Ézéchiel 8:17

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

8

3 וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ תַּבְנִ֣ית יָ֔ד וַיִּקָּחֵ֖נִי בְּצִיצִ֣ת רֹאשִׁ֑י וַתִּשָּׂ֣א אֹתִ֣י ר֣וּחַ ׀ בֵּֽין־הָאָ֣רֶץ וּבֵ֣ין הַשָּׁמַ֡יִם וַתָּבֵא֩ אֹתִ֨י יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ְמָה בְּמַרְא֣וֹת אֱלֹהִ֗ים אֶל־פֶּ֜תַח שַׁ֤עַר הַפְּנִימִית֙ הַפּוֹנֶ֣ה צָפ֔וֹנָה אֲשֶׁר־שָׁ֣ם מוֹשַׁ֔ב סֵ֖מֶל הַקִּנְאָ֥ה הַמַּקְנֶֽה׃ Et elle étendit une forme de main et me saisit par les tresses de ma tête et un souffle m’emporta entre terre et ciel et m’amena à Jérusalem dans des visions divines, à l’entrée de la porte intérieure qui regarde vers le Nord, où est placée l’idole de la jalousie irritante.
5 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שָׂא־נָ֥א עֵינֶ֖יךָ דֶּ֣רֶךְ צָפ֑וֹנָה וָאֶשָּׂ֤א עֵינַי֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ צָפ֔וֹנָה וְהִנֵּ֤ה מִצָּפוֹן֙ לְשַׁ֣עַר הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ סֵ֛מֶל הַקִּנְאָ֥ה הַזֶּ֖ה בַּבִּאָֽה׃ Et il me dit: "Fils de l’homme, lève donc les yeux dans la direction du Nord;" je levai les yeux dans la direction du Nord, et voici que du côté du Nord, à la porte de l’autel, il y avait cette statue de la jalousie à l’entrée.
6 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם הֲרֹאֶ֥ה אַתָּ֖ה (מהם) [מָ֣ה הֵ֣ם] עֹשִׂ֑ים תּוֹעֵב֨וֹת גְּדֹל֜וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ׀ עֹשִׂ֣ים פֹּ֗ה לְרׇֽחֳקָה֙ מֵעַ֣ל מִקְדָּשִׁ֔י וְעוֹד֙ תָּשׁ֣וּב תִּרְאֶ֔ה תּוֹעֵב֖וֹת גְּדֹלֽוֹת׃ {פ}
Il me mena à l’entrée de la cour et je vis qu’il y avait un trou dans le mur.
8 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן־אָדָ֖ם חֲתׇר־נָ֣א בַקִּ֑יר וָאֶחְתֹּ֣ר בַּקִּ֔יר וְהִנֵּ֖ה פֶּ֥תַח אֶחָֽד׃ {ס}         Et il me dit: "Fils de l’homme, creuse donc dans le mur," et je creusai dans le mur, et voici qu’il y avait une entrée.
12 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַי֮ הֲרָאִ֣יתָ בֶן־אָדָם֒ אֲשֶׁ֨ר זִקְנֵ֤י בֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּחֹ֔שֶׁךְ אִ֖ישׁ בְּחַדְרֵ֣י מַשְׂכִּית֑וֹ כִּ֣י אֹמְרִ֗ים אֵ֤ין יְהֹוָה֙ רֹאֶ֣ה אֹתָ֔נוּ עָזַ֥ב יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Et il me dit: "As-tu vu, fils de l’homme, ce que les anciens d’Israël font dans les ténèbres, chacun dans ses chambres d’images?
Et il me dit: "Tu verras encore d’autres grandes abominations qu’ils commettent."
14 וַיָּבֵ֣א אֹתִ֗י אֶל־פֶּ֙תַח֙ שַׁ֣עַר בֵּית־יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר אֶל־הַצָּפ֑וֹנָה וְהִנֵּה־שָׁם֙ הַנָּשִׁ֣ים יֹשְׁב֔וֹת מְבַכּ֖וֹת אֶת־הַתַּמּֽוּז׃ {ס}         Il me mena à l’entrée de la maison de l’Éternel qui regarde au nord, et voici que des femmes y étaient assises, pleurant le Tammouz.
16 וַיָּבֵ֣א אֹתִ֗י אֶל־חֲצַ֣ר בֵּית־יְהֹוָה֮ הַפְּנִימִית֒ וְהִנֵּה־פֶ֜תַח הֵיכַ֣ל יְהֹוָ֗ה בֵּ֤ין הָֽאוּלָם֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ כְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה אִ֑ישׁ אֲחֹ֨רֵיהֶ֜ם אֶל־הֵיכַ֤ל יְהֹוָה֙ וּפְנֵיהֶ֣ם קֵ֔דְמָה וְהֵ֛מָּה מִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֥ם קֵ֖דְמָה לַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ Il me fit entrer dans la cour intérieure de la maison de l’Éternel, et voici qu’à l’entrée du sanctuaire de l’Éternel, entre le parvis et l’autel, il y avait quelque vingt-cinq hommes qui avaient le dos tourné au sanctuaire de l’Éternel et la face vers l’Orient, et ils se prosternaient vers l’Orient devant le soleil.

Then He said unto me: ‘Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here in that they fill the land with violence, and provoke Me still more, and, lo, they put the branch to their nose?

I rzekł do mnie: Czy widziałeś, synu człowieczy? Izali zbyt błahem synom Judy czynić takie obmierzłości, jakie tu czynią, że napełniają ziemię bezprawiem, a jeszcze bardziej Mnie drażnią: Oto teraz przykładają gałązkę do nosów swoich!

Rashi

English

Was it [too] trivial to the house of Judah Is it trivial and light in their eyes, the other sins that they have committed?

to prevent them from performing the abominations that they should refrain from doing all the abominations that they have done in My house here?

for they have [already] filled the land with violence and that that iniquity is trivial in their eyes, and they repeatedly provoke Me within My house with these abominations.

and behold they send disgrace into their nose Behold they send to their nose the foul odor of this “song,” which they “sing” with the wind emerging from their anus; i.e., this disgrace of theirs will come back to their faces. Menachem (p. 79) explained: “and behold they send the disgrace into their nose” is a matter of disgrace and shame; and according to his explanation, He compares the aroma of their censers and (Ezek. 20:28) “the anger of their sacrifices” and (ibid.) “their pleasant aroma” to the work of the disgrace of the orifices. “Their backs to the Temple of the Lord” implies this idea.
