1 אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רְאוּבֵ֤ן שִׁמְעוֹן֙ לֵוִ֣י וִיהוּדָ֔ה יִשָּׂשכָ֖ר וּזְבֻלֽוּן׃ Voici les enfants d’Israël: Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issachar et Zabulon,

2 דָּ֚ן יוֹסֵ֣ף וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן נַפְתָּלִ֖י גָּ֥ד וְאָשֵֽׁר׃ {פ}
Dan, Joseph et Benjamin, Nephtali, Gad et Aser.

3 בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה עֵ֤ר וְאוֹנָן֙ וְשֵׁלָ֔ה שְׁלוֹשָׁה֙ נ֣וֹלַד ל֔וֹ מִבַּת־שׁ֖וּעַ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑ית וַיְהִ֞י עֵ֣ר ׀ בְּכ֣וֹר יְהוּדָ֗ה רַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה וַיְמִיתֵֽהוּ׃ {ס} Enfants de Juda: Er, Onân et Chêla; ces trois lui naquirent de la fille de Choua, la Cananéenne. Er, le premier-né de Juda, ayant déplu au Seigneur, le Seigneur le fit mourir.

4 וְתָמָר֙ כַּלָּת֔וֹ יָ֥לְדָה לּ֖וֹ אֶת־פֶּ֣רֶץ וְאֶת־זָ֑רַח כׇּל־בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ {ס} Tamar, sa bru, lui enfanta Péreç et Zérah. Total des fils de Juda: cinq.

5 בְּנֵי־פֶ֖רֶץ חֶצְר֥וֹן וְחָמֽוּל׃ {ס} Les fils de Péreç furent Heçrôn et Hamoul.

6 וּבְנֵ֣י זֶ֗רַח זִ֠מְרִ֠י וְאֵיתָ֧ן וְהֵימָ֛ן וְכַלְכֹּ֥ל וָדָ֖רַע כֻּלָּ֥ם חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ {ס} Fils de Zérah: Zimri, Ethân, Hêmân, Kalkol, Dara, en tout cinq.

7 וּבְנֵ֖י כַּרְמִ֑י עָכָר֙ עוֹכֵ֣ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָעַ֖ל בַּחֵֽרֶם׃ {ס} Fils de Carmi: Akhar, qui affligea Israël en violant l’anathème.

8 וּבְנֵ֥י אֵיתָ֖ן עֲזַרְיָֽה׃ {ס} Fils d’Ethân: Azaria.

9 וּבְנֵ֥י חֶצְר֖וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר נֽוֹלַד־ל֑וֹ אֶת־יְרַחְמְאֵ֥ל וְאֶת־רָ֖ם וְאֶת־כְּלוּבָֽי׃ Fils de Heçrôn, qui lui naquirent: Yerahmeêl, Râm et Keloubaï.

10 וְרָ֖ם הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־עַמִּֽינָדָ֑ב וְעַמִּֽינָדָב֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־נַחְשׁ֔וֹן נְשִׂ֖יא בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃ Râm engendra Amminadab, et Amminadab Nahchôn, prince des enfants de Juda.

11 וְנַחְשׁוֹן֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־שַׂלְמָ֔א וְשַׂלְמָ֖א הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בֹּֽעַז׃ Nahchôn engendra Salmâ, et Salmâ Booz.

12 וּבֹ֙עַז֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־עוֹבֵ֔ד וְעוֹבֵ֖ד הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־יִשָֽׁי׃ Booz engendra Obed, et Obed Jessé.

13 וְאִישַׁ֛י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בְּכֹר֖וֹ אֶת־אֱלִיאָ֑ב וַאֲבִֽינָדָב֙ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י וְשִׁמְעָ֖א הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁי׃ Jessé engendra comme premier-né Elïab, Abinadab deuxième, Chimea troisième,

14 נְתַנְאֵל֙ הָרְבִיעִ֔י רַדַּ֖י הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃ Nethanel quatrième, Raddaï cinquième,

15 אֹ֚צֶם הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י דָּוִ֖יד הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃ Ocem sixième, David septième.

16 וְאַחְיֹתֵיהֶ֖ם צְרוּיָ֣ה וַאֲבִיגָ֑יִל וּבְנֵ֣י צְרוּיָ֗ה אַבְשַׁ֛י וְיוֹאָ֥ב וַעֲשָׂהאֵ֖ל שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ Leurs sœurs étaient Cerouya et Abigaïl; les fils de Cerouya: Abchaï, Joab, Assahel, en tout trois.

17 וַאֲבִיגַ֕יִל יָלְדָ֖ה אֶת־עֲמָשָׂ֑א וַאֲבִ֣י עֲמָשָׂ֔א יֶ֖תֶר הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִֽי׃ Abigaïl enfanta Amassa. Amassa avait pour père Yéter, l’Ismaélite.

18 וְכָלֵ֣ב בֶּן־חֶצְר֗וֹן הוֹלִ֛יד אֶת־עֲזוּבָ֥ה אִשָּׁ֖ה וְאֶת־יְרִיע֑וֹת וְאֵ֣לֶּה בָנֶ֔יהָ יֵ֥שֶׁר וְשׁוֹבָ֖ב וְאַרְדּֽוֹן׃ Caleb, fils de Heçrôn, eut des enfants d’Azouba, sa femme, et de Yerioth. Les enfants de la première furent: Yêcher, Chobab et Ardôn.

19 וַתָּ֖מׇת עֲזוּבָ֑ה וַיִּֽקַּֽח־ל֤וֹ כָלֵב֙ אֶת־אֶפְרָ֔ת וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־חֽוּר׃ Azouba étant morte, Caleb épousa Efrath, et celle-ci lui enfanta Hour.

20 וְחוּר֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אוּרִ֔י וְאוּרִ֖י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בְּצַלְאֵֽל׃ {ס} Hour engendra Ouri, et Ouri Beçalêl.

21 וְאַחַ֗ר בָּ֤א חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֶל־בַּת־מָכִיר֙ אֲבִ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד וְה֣וּא לְקָחָ֔הּ וְה֖וּא בֶּן־שִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־שְׂגֽוּב׃ Ensuite Heçrôn eut commerce avec une fille de Makhir, père de Ghilad, qu’il avait épousée à l’âge de soixante ans. Elle lui enfanta Segoub.

22 וּשְׂג֖וּב הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יָאִ֑יר וַֽיְהִי־ל֗וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְשָׁלוֹשׁ֙ עָרִ֔ים בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ {ס} Segoub engendra Yaïr, qui posséda vingt-trois villes dans le pays de Galaad.

23 וַיִּקַּ֣ח גְּשֽׁוּר־וַ֠אֲרָ֠ם אֶת־חַוֺּ֨ת יָאִ֧יר מֵאִתָּ֛ם אֶת־קְנָ֥ת וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶ֖יהָ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים עִ֑יר כׇּל־אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֖י מָכִ֥יר אֲבִֽי־גִלְעָֽד׃ Ghechour et Aram leur enlevèrent les bourgs de Yaïr, avec Kenath et ses bourgs, en tout soixante villes. Tous ceux-là étaient fils de Makhir, père de Ghilad.

24 וְאַחַ֥ר מוֹת־חֶצְר֖וֹן בְּכָלֵ֣ב אֶפְרָ֑תָה וְאֵ֤שֶׁת חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֲבִיָּ֔ה וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־אַשְׁח֖וּר אֲבִ֥י תְקֽוֹעַ׃ {ס} Après la mort de Heçrôn à Caleb d’Efrath, la femme de Heçron, Abiyya, lui enfanta Achhour, le père de Tekoa.

25 וַיִּהְי֧וּ בְנֵי־יְרַחְמְאֵ֛ל בְּכ֥וֹר חֶצְר֖וֹן הַבְּכ֣וֹר ׀ רָ֑ם וּבוּנָ֥ה וָאֹ֛רֶן וָאֹ֖צֶם אֲחִיָּֽה׃ Les fils de Yerahmeêl, le premier-né de Heçron, furent Râm, l’aîné, Bouna, Orén, Ocem, [nés d’]Ahiyya.

26 וַתְּהִ֨י אִשָּׁ֥ה אַחֶ֛רֶת לִֽירַחְמְאֵ֖ל וּשְׁמָ֣הּ עֲטָרָ֑ה הִ֖יא אֵ֥ם אוֹנָֽם׃ {ס} Yerahmeêl eut une autre femme, du nom d’Atara. Ce fut la mère d’Onam.

27 וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־רָ֖ם בְּכ֣וֹר יְרַחְמְאֵ֑ל מַ֥עַץ וְיָמִ֖ין וָעֵֽקֶר׃ Les fils de Râm, le premier-né de Yerahmeêl, furent: Maaç, Yamîn et Eker.

28 וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־אוֹנָ֖ם שַׁמַּ֣י וְיָדָ֑ע וּבְנֵ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י נָדָ֖ב וַאֲבִישֽׁוּר׃ Les fils d’Onam furent Chammaï et Yada, ceux de Chammaï: Nadab et Abichour.

29 וְשֵׁ֛ם אֵ֥שֶׁת אֲבִישׁ֖וּר אֲבִיהָ֑יִל וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־אַחְבָּ֖ן וְאֶת־מוֹלִֽיד׃ La femme d’Abichour, qui s’appelait Abihaïl, lui enfanta Ahbân et Molid.

30 וּבְנֵ֥י נָדָ֖ב סֶ֣לֶד וְאַפָּ֑יִם וַיָּ֥מׇת סֶ֖לֶד לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃ Les fils de Nadab furent Séled et Appaïm. Séled mourut sans enfants.

31 וּבְנֵ֥י אַפַּ֖יִם יִשְׁעִ֑י וּבְנֵ֤י יִשְׁעִי֙ שֵׁשָׁ֔ן וּבְנֵ֥י שֵׁשָׁ֖ן אַחְלָֽי׃ Les enfants d’Appaïm furent Yicheï, de celui-ci Chêchân, de celui-ci Ahlaï.

32 וּבְנֵ֤י יָדָע֙ אֲחִ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י יֶ֖תֶר וְיוֹנָתָ֑ן וַיָּ֥מׇת יֶ֖תֶר לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃ {ס} Les fils de Yada, frère de Chammaï, furent Yéter et Jonathan. Yéter mourut sans enfants.

33 וּבְנֵ֥י יוֹנָתָ֖ן פֶּ֣לֶת וְזָזָ֑א אֵ֥לֶּה הָי֖וּ בְּנֵ֥י יְרַחְמְאֵֽל׃ Les fils de Jonathan furent: Péleth et Zaza. Tels furent les descendants de Yerahmeêl.

34 וְלֹא־הָיָ֧ה לְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן בָּנִ֖ים כִּ֣י אִם־בָּנ֑וֹת וּלְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן עֶ֥בֶד מִצְרִ֖י וּשְׁמ֥וֹ יַרְחָֽע׃ Chêchân n’avait pas de fils, mais seulement des filles. Ayant un esclave égyptien du nom de Yarha,

35 וַיִּתֵּ֨ן שֵׁשָׁ֧ן אֶת־בִּתּ֛וֹ לְיַרְחָ֥ע עַבְדּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־עַתָּֽי׃ Chêchân donna en mariage sa fille à ce Yarha, son esclave, et elle lui enfanta Attaï.

36 וְעַתַּי֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־נָתָ֔ן וְנָתָ֖ן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־זָבָֽד׃ Attaï engendra Nathan, et celui-ci Zabad.

37 וְזָבָד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אֶפְלָ֔ל וְאֶפְלָ֖ל הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־עוֹבֵֽד׃ Zabad engendra Eflâl, et celui-ci Obed.

38 וְעוֹבֵד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יֵה֔וּא וְיֵה֖וּא הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־עֲזַרְיָֽה׃ Obed engendra Jéhu et celui-ci Azaria.

39 וַֽעֲזַרְיָה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־חָ֔לֶץ וְחֶ֖לֶץ הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־אֶלְעָשָֽׂה׃ Azaria engendra Héleç, et celui-ci Elassa.

40 וְאֶלְעָשָׂה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־סִֽסְמָ֔י וְסִסְמַ֖י הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־שַׁלּֽוּם׃ Elassa engendra Sismaï et celui-ci Challoum.

41 וְשַׁלּוּם֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יְקַמְיָ֔ה וִיקַמְיָ֖ה הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־אֱלִישָׁמָֽע׃ {ס} Challoum engendra Yekamia, et celui-ci Elichama.

42 וּבְנֵ֤י כָלֵב֙ אֲחִ֣י יְרַחְמְאֵ֔ל מֵישָׁ֥ע בְּכֹר֖וֹ ה֣וּא אֲבִי־זִ֑יף וּבְנֵ֥י מָרֵשָׁ֖ה אֲבִ֥י חֶבְרֽוֹן׃ Les fils de Caleb, frère de Yerahmeêl, furent: Mêcha, son premier-né, le père de Zif, et Marêcha, son autre fils, le père de Hébron.

43 וּבְנֵ֖י חֶבְר֑וֹן קֹ֥רַח וְתַפֻּ֖חַ וְרֶ֥קֶם וָשָֽׁמַע׃ Les fils de Hébron furent: Korah, Tappouah, Rékem et Chéma.

44 וְשֶׁ֣מַע הוֹלִ֔יד אֶת־רַ֖חַם אֲבִ֣י יׇרְקְעָ֑ם וְרֶ֖קֶם הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־שַׁמָּֽי׃ Chéma engendra Raham, le père de Yorkeam, et Rékem engendra Chammaï.

45 וּבֶן־שַׁמַּ֖י מָע֑וֹן וּמָע֖וֹן אֲבִ֥י בֵֽית־צֽוּר׃ Le fils de Chammaï fut Maôn, et Maôn fut le père de Bêth-Çour.

46 וְעֵיפָה֙ פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ כָּלֵ֔ב יָ֥לְדָ֛ה אֶת־חָרָ֥ן וְאֶת־מוֹצָ֖א וְאֶת־גָּזֵ֑ז וְחָרָ֖ן הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־גָּזֵֽז׃ {ס} Efa, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Harân et Moça (et Gazêz). Harân enfanta Gazêz.

47 וּבְנֵ֖י יׇהְדָּ֑י רֶ֧גֶם וְיוֹתָ֛ם וְגֵישָׁ֥ן וָפֶ֖לֶט וְעֵיפָ֥ה וָשָֽׁעַף׃ Les enfants de Yéhdaï furent: Réghem, Jotham, Ghêchân, Pélét, Efa et Chaaf.

48 פִּילֶ֤גֶשׁ כָּלֵב֙ מַֽעֲכָ֔ה יָ֥לַד שֶׁ֖בֶר וְאֶֽת־תִּרְחֲנָֽה׃ Une autre concubine de Caleb, nommée Maakha, enfanta Chéber et Tirhana.

49 וַתֵּ֗לֶד שַׁ֚עַף אֲבִ֣י מַדְמַנָּ֔ה אֶת־שְׁוָ֛א אֲבִ֥י מַכְבֵּנָ֖ה וַאֲבִ֣י גִבְעָ֑א וּבַת־כָּלֵ֖ב עַכְסָֽה׃ {ס} Elle enfanta Chaaf, le père de Madmanna, Cheva, le père de Makhbèna et le père de Ghibea. La fille de Caleb était Akhsa.

50 אֵ֤לֶּה הָיוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י כָלֵ֔ב בֶּן־ח֖וּר בְּכ֣וֹר אֶפְרָ֑תָה שׁוֹבָ֕ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֥ת יְעָרִֽים׃ Caleb, fils de Hour, premier-né d’Efrata, eut pour fils: Chobal, le père de Kiryat-Yearim,

51 שַׂלְמָא֙ אֲבִ֣י בֵֽית־לָ֔חֶם חָרֵ֖ף אֲבִ֥י בֵית־גָּדֵֽר׃ Salma, le père de Bethléem, Harêf, le père de Bêth-Ghédêr.

52 וַיִּהְי֤וּ בָנִים֙ לְשׁוֹבָ֔ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֑ים הָרֹאֶ֖ה חֲצִ֥י הַמְּנֻחֽוֹת׃ Chobal, le père de Kiryat-Yearim, eut des enfants: Haroé, Haci-Hammenouhoth.

53 וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת֙ קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים הַיִּתְרִי֙ וְהַפּוּתִ֔י וְהַשֻּׁמָתִ֖י וְהַמִּשְׁרָעִ֑י מֵאֵ֗לֶּה יָֽצְאוּ֙ הַצָּ֣רְעָתִ֔י וְהָאֶשְׁתָּ֖אֻֽלִֽי׃ {ס} Les familles de Kiryat-Yearim furent: le Yitrien, le Poutien, le Choumatien et le Michraïen. D’eux essaimèrent le Çoratien et l’Echtaoulien.

54 בְּנֵ֣י שַׂלְמָ֗א בֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ וּנְט֣וֹפָתִ֔י עַטְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית יוֹאָ֑ב וַחֲצִ֥י הַמָּנַחְתִּ֖י הַצׇּרְעִֽי׃ Les enfants de Salma furent Bethléem, le Netofatien, Atroth, Bêth-Yoab, le Haci-Hammanahtien, le Çorien.

55 וּמִשְׁפְּח֤וֹת סֹֽפְרִים֙ (ישבו) [יֹשְׁבֵ֣י] יַעְבֵּ֔ץ תִּרְעָתִ֥ים שִׁמְעָתִ֖ים שׂוּכָתִ֑ים הֵ֚מָּה הַקִּינִ֣ים הַבָּאִ֔ים מֵחַמַּ֖ת אֲבִ֥י בֵית־רֵכָֽב׃ {ס} Les familles des scribes qui demeuraient à Yabêç étaient les Tiratiens, les Chimatiens et les Soukatiens. C’étaient les Kéniens, issus de Hamath, le père de Bêth-Rêkhab.

And Hur begot Uri, and Uri begot Bezalel Figure that each of them was less than eight years old when they begot, for Caleb was forty years old during the episode of the spies, as it is written (Jos. 14: 7): “I was forty years old when [Moses, the servant of the Lord] sent, etc.,” and at that time they all were already born, for the Tabernacle that Bezalel made had been erected. Caleb was eight years old when he begot Azuba Ishah, nine years old when he begot Jerioth, and after the death of Azubah, his wife, he took Ephrath, and she bore him Hur in the following year, making him ten years old, and Hur was eight years old when he begot Uri, and Uri was eight years old when he begot Bezalel, thus making 26 years, and it is written (Exod. 36:1): “and every wise hearted man,” and a man is not less than thirteen years old. So Bezalel was thirteen years old when he made the Tabernacle. Thus, we have forty years less one. We find that each one of them was less than eight years old when they begot children, and so it is explained in Chapter “Ben sorer umoreh“ (Sanh. 69a). According to the Midrash, they begot at the age of six.
