1 וְאֵ֤לֶּה הָיוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י דָוִ֔יד אֲשֶׁ֥ר נוֹלַד־ל֖וֹ בְּחֶבְר֑וֹן הַבְּכ֣וֹר ׀ אַמְנֹ֗ן לַאֲחִינֹ֙עַם֙ הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִ֔ית שֵׁנִי֙ דָּנִיֵּ֔אל לַאֲבִיגַ֖יִל הַֽכַּרְמְלִֽית׃ Voici les fils de David qui lui naquirent à Hébron: le premier-né fut Amnon, qu’il eut d’Ahinoam, de Jezréel, le deuxième Daniel, qu’il eut d’Abigaïl, de Carmel,

2 הַשְּׁלִשִׁי֙ לְאַבְשָׁל֣וֹם בֶּֽן־מַעֲכָ֔ה בַּת־תַּלְמַ֖י מֶ֣לֶךְ גְּשׁ֑וּר הָרְבִיעִ֖י אֲדֹנִיָּ֥ה בֶן־חַגִּֽית׃ le troisième Absalon, fils de Maakha, fille de Talmaï, roi de Ghechour; le quatrième Adonias, fils de Hagghit;

3 הַחֲמִישִׁ֥י שְׁפַטְיָ֖ה לַאֲבִיטָ֑ל הַשִּׁשִּׁ֥י יִתְרְעָ֖ם לְעֶגְלָ֥ה אִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃ le cinquième Chefatia, fils d’Abital; le sixième Yitream, qu’il eut d’Egla, sa femme.

4 שִׁשָּׁה֙ נוֹלַד־ל֣וֹ בְחֶבְר֔וֹן וַיִּ֨מְלׇךְ־שָׁ֔ם שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים וְשִׁשָּׁ֣ה חֳדָשִׁ֑ים וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וְשָׁלוֹשׁ֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ {ס} Six lui naquirent donc à Hébron; là, il régna sept ans et six mois, tandis qu’il régna trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.

5 וְאֵ֥לֶּה נוּלְּדוּ־ל֖וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑יִם שִׁ֠מְעָ֠א וְשׁוֹבָ֞ב וְנָתָ֤ן וּשְׁלֹמֹה֙ אַרְבָּעָ֔ה לְבַת־שׁ֖וּעַ בַּת־עַמִּיאֵֽל׃ Voici ceux qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem: Chimea, Chobab, Nathan, Salomon, soit quatre, de Bath-Choua, fille d’Ammiël;

6 וְיִבְחָ֥ר וֶאֱלִישָׁמָ֖ע וֶאֱלִיפָֽלֶט׃ Yibhar, Elichama, Elifélet;

7 וְנֹ֥גַהּ וְנֶ֖פֶג וְיָפִֽיעַ׃ Nogah, Néfeg, Yafia,

8 וֶאֱלִישָׁמָ֧ע וְאֶלְיָדָ֛ע וֶאֱלִיפֶ֖לֶט תִּשְׁעָֽה׃ Elichama, Elyada et Eliféleth, soit neuf.

9 כֹּ֖ל בְּנֵ֣י דָוִ֑יד מִלְּבַ֥ד בְּֽנֵי־פִֽילַגְשִׁ֖ים וְתָמָ֥ר אֲחוֹתָֽם׃ {פ}
Tous ceux-là furent fils de David, sans compter les fils des concubines et Tamar leur sœur.

10 וּבֶן־שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה רְחַבְעָ֑ם אֲבִיָּ֥ה בְנ֛וֹ אָסָ֥א בְנ֖וֹ יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט בְּנֽוֹ׃ Salomon eut pour fils Roboam, celui-ci Abiyya, celui-ci Asa, celui-ci Josaphat,

11 יוֹרָ֥ם בְּנ֛וֹ אֲחַזְיָ֥הוּ בְנ֖וֹ יוֹאָ֥שׁ בְּנֽוֹ׃ celui-ci Joram, celui-ci Achazia, celui-ci Joas,

12 אֲמַצְיָ֧הוּ בְנ֛וֹ עֲזַרְיָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ יוֹתָ֥ם בְּנֽוֹ׃ celui-ci Amacia, celui-ci Azaria, celui-ci Jotham,

13 אָחָ֥ז בְּנ֛וֹ חִזְקִיָּ֥הוּ בְנ֖וֹ מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה בְנֽוֹ׃ celui-ci Achaz, celui-ci Ezéchias, celui-ci Manassé,

14 אָמ֥וֹן בְּנ֖וֹ יֹאשִׁיָּ֥הוּ בְנֽוֹ׃ celui-ci Amon, celui-ci Josias.

15 וּבְנֵי֙ יֹֽאשִׁיָּ֔הוּ הַבְּכוֹר֙ יֽוֹחָנָ֔ן הַשֵּׁנִ֖י יְהוֹיָקִ֑ים הַשְּׁלִשִׁי֙ צִדְקִיָּ֔הוּ הָרְבִיעִ֖י שַׁלּֽוּם׃ Les fils de Josias furent: Johanan, l’aîné, Joïakim, le deuxième, Sédécias, le troisième, Challoum le quatrième.

16 וּבְנֵ֖י יְהוֹיָקִ֑ים יְכׇנְיָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ צִדְקִיָּ֥ה בְנֽוֹ׃ Les fils de Joïakim furent: Yekhonia et Sédécias;

17 וּבְנֵי֙ יְכׇנְיָ֣ה אַסִּ֔ר שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵ֖ל בְּנֽוֹ׃ les fils de Yekhonia captif: Chealtiêl, son fils,

18 וּמַלְכִירָ֥ם וּפְדָיָ֖ה וְשֶׁנְאַצַּ֑ר יְקַמְיָ֥ה הוֹשָׁמָ֖ע וּנְדַבְיָֽה׃ Malkiram, Pedaïa, Chénaçar, Yekamia, Hochama et Nedabia.

19 וּבְנֵ֣י פְדָיָ֔ה זְרֻבָּבֶ֖ל וְשִׁמְעִ֑י וּבֶן־זְרֻבָּבֶל֙ מְשֻׁלָּ֣ם וַחֲנַנְיָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹמִ֖ית אֲחוֹתָֽם׃ Les fils de Pedaïa: Zorobabel et Chimeï; le[s] fils de Zorobabel: Mechoullam, Hanania, Chelomit leur sœur,

20 וַחֲשֻׁבָ֡ה וָ֠אֹ֠הֶל וּבֶרֶכְיָ֧ה וַחֲסַדְיָ֛ה י֥וּשַׁב חֶ֖סֶד חָמֵֽשׁ׃ Hachouba, Ohél, Bérékhia, Hassadia, Youchab-Héséd, soit cinq.

21 וּבֶן־חֲנַנְיָ֖ה פְּלַטְיָ֣ה וִישַֽׁעְיָ֑ה בְּנֵ֤י רְפָיָה֙ בְּנֵ֣י אַרְנָ֔ן בְּנֵ֥י עֹבַדְיָ֖ה בְּנֵ֥י שְׁכַנְיָֽה׃ Le fils de Hanania fut Pelatia, celui-ci eut pour fils Isaïe; celui-ci Refaïa, celui-ci Arnân, celui-ci Obadia, celui-ci Chekhania,

22 וּבְנֵ֥י שְׁכַנְיָ֖ה שְׁמַֽעְיָ֑ה וּבְנֵ֣י שְׁמַֽעְיָ֗ה חַטּ֡וּשׁ וְ֠יִגְאָ֠ל וּבָרִ֧יחַ וּנְעַרְיָ֛ה וְשָׁפָ֖ט שִׁשָּֽׁה׃ celui-ci Chemaïa. Les fils de Chemaïa furent: Hattouch, Yigal, Bariah, Nearia et Chafat, soit six.

23 וּבֶן־נְעַרְיָ֗ה אֶלְיוֹעֵינַ֧י וְחִזְקִיָּ֛ה וְעַזְרִיקָ֖ם שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ {ס} Progéniture de Nearia: Elyoènaï, Ezéchias et Azrikam, soit trois.

24 וּבְנֵ֣י אֶלְיוֹעֵינַ֗י (הודיוהו) [הוֹדַוְיָ֡הוּ] וְאֶלְיָשִׁ֡יב וּפְלָיָ֡ה וְ֠עַקּ֠וּב וְיוֹחָנָ֧ן וּדְלָיָ֛ה וַעֲנָ֖נִי שִׁבְעָֽה׃ {ס} Fils de Elyoènaï: Hodaïahou, Elyachib, Pelaïa, Akkoub, Johanan, Delaïa et Anâni, en tout sept.

and Eljada and Eliphelet In II Sam. (5:16) Scripture counts Eliphelet only once and counts only seven [sons], but here, he counts nine. The reason is that his son Eliphelet died, and another son was born to him later who was likewise named Eliphelet. He is the one counted there, and also Elishama. Elishama he counts here twice. We can say similarly that he died and another son was born to him, and also one of these died and seven remained. For this reason, he counts there only seven, and the nine that he counts here are for David’s honor, that he had many sons, for indeed the entire Book was written because of the honor of David and his posterity.
