Isaïe 31:5

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

31

4 כִּ֣י כֹ֣ה אָֽמַר־יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ אֵלַ֡י כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יֶהְגֶּה֩ הָאַרְיֵ֨ה וְהַכְּפִ֜יר עַל־טַרְפּ֗וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִקָּרֵ֤א עָלָיו֙ מְלֹ֣א רֹעִ֔ים מִקּוֹלָם֙ לֹ֣א יֵחָ֔ת וּמֵהֲמוֹנָ֖ם לֹ֣א יַעֲנֶ֑ה כֵּ֗ן יֵרֵד֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת לִצְבֹּ֥א עַל־הַר־צִיּ֖וֹן וְעַל־גִּבְעָתָֽהּ׃ Car ainsi m’a parlé le Seigneur: "Tels le lion et le lionceau, qui, grondant auprès de leur proie et ameutant contre eux une multitude de bergers, ne se laissent point effrayer par leurs cris ni intimider par leurs clameurs, tel l’Éternel-Cebaot descendra pour guerroyer sur la montagne de Sion et ses hauteurs.
9 וְסַלְעוֹ֙ מִמָּג֣וֹר יַעֲב֔וֹר וְחַתּ֥וּ מִנֵּ֖ס שָׂרָ֑יו נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁר־א֥וּר לוֹ֙ בְּצִיּ֔וֹן וְתַנּ֥וּר ל֖וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ {פ}
Son rocher s’évanouira de terreur, ses princes seront épouvantés par un étendard: telle est la parole de l’Éternel, qui a son foyer à Sion et sa fournaise à Jérusalem.

Ibn Ezra

English

כצפרים As birds. This noun is feminine, although it has the plural termination ־ִים (comp. פילגשים concubines, signifying exclusively a female being, and still with the masculine termination); it is therefore followed by the feminine form עפות flying.

עפות is a participle. Comp. רצות ושבוּת running and returning (Ez. 1:14).

יגן He will cover. Comp. מגן shield (Gen. 15:1). As the birds cover with their wings their young ones, in order to protect them, so will the Lord, etc.

וְהִצִּיל And to deliver. Although there is a Hirek under the ה, it is nevertheless infinitive.

פסוח To pass over. Comp. ופסח and he will pass over (Ex. 12:23)
