Isaïe 62:3

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

62

4 לֹא־יֵאָמֵר֩ לָ֨ךְ ע֜וֹד עֲזוּבָ֗ה וּלְאַרְצֵךְ֙ לֹא־יֵאָמֵ֥ר עוֹד֙ שְׁמָמָ֔ה כִּ֣י לָ֗ךְ יִקָּרֵא֙ חֶפְצִי־בָ֔הּ וּלְאַרְצֵ֖ךְ בְּעוּלָ֑ה כִּֽי־חָפֵ֤ץ יְהֹוָה֙ בָּ֔ךְ וְאַרְצֵ֖ךְ תִּבָּעֵֽל׃ Tu ne seras plus nommée la Délaissée et ta terre ne s’appellera plus Solitude; toi, tu auras nom Celle que j’aime, et ta terre se nommera I’Epousée; parce que tu seras la bien-aimée de l’Éternel, et parce que ta terre connaîtra les épousailles.

Targum Jonathan

Ye shall be a crown of joy before the Lord, and a diadem of glory before thy God.

Ibn Ezra

English

In the hand of the Lord. In some countries people wear crowns on their hands., here, of the hand. But it is, in fact, not necessary to join ביד with עטרת; we may join it with והיית and explain the phrase thus: Thou shalt be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord—that is, well protected and guarded by the Lord.
