Isaïe 63:9

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

63

J’observai avec surprise: personne pour me prêter main forte! Alors mon bras fut mon secours, mon indignation fut mon auxiliaire.
7 חַֽסְדֵ֨י יְהֹוָ֤ה ׀ אַזְכִּיר֙ תְּהִלֹּ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה כְּעַ֕ל כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־גְּמָלָ֖נוּ יְהֹוָ֑ה וְרַב־טוּב֙ לְבֵ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־גְּמָלָ֥ם כְּֽרַחֲמָ֖יו וּכְרֹ֥ב חֲסָדָֽיו׃ Je veux proclamer les bienfaits du Seigneur, les louanges de l’Éternel, en raison de toutes les bontés qu’il a eues pour nous, du bien immense qu’il a fait à la maison d’Israël, qu’il lui a fait selon sa miséricorde et l’abondance de ses grâces.
Ah! Puisses-tu déchirer les cieux et descendre! Puissent les montagnes s’effondrer devant toi!

Commentaires sur Isaïe 63:9

Rashi

English

In all their trouble that He would bring upon them.

He did not trouble [them] He did not trouble them according to their deeds, that they deserved to suffer, for the angel of His presencei.e., Michael the prince of the Presence, of those who minister before Him saved them always as an agent of the Omnipresent.

Targum Jonathan

English

Whenever they sinned against Him, that He might have brought upon them distress, He did not distress them; but an angel was sent from Him, who in His mercy redeemed them; and in His compassion, behold, He delivered them; and He bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

Ibn Ezra

English

לא The true meaning of the word is to Him; and לא צר (lit., Unto Him was trouble), he was afflicted, has the same meaning as And His soul was grieved (Jud. 10:16). It is a figurative expression. He was, as it were, in distress, therefore He hastened to deliver them.

And the angel of His presence. Comp. And sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt (Num. 20:16); this does by no means refer to Moses.

And he bare them. Comp. ונטל and the weight (Prov. 27:3). It refers to the deliverance of Israel from Egypt. And he carried them in their land. All the days of the long period of their stay in their own land.
