1 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָל֛וּ עִם־זְרֻבָּבֶ֥ל בֶּן־שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵ֖ל וְיֵשׁ֑וּעַ שְׂרָיָ֥ה יִרְמְיָ֖ה עֶזְרָֽא׃ Voici les prêtres et les Lévites qui revinrent avec Zorobabel, fils de Chealtiêl, et Yêchoua: Seraïa, Jérémie, Ezra;

2 אֲמַרְיָ֥ה מַלּ֖וּךְ חַטּֽוּשׁ׃ Amaria, Mallouc, Hattouch;

3 שְׁכַנְיָ֥ה רְחֻ֖ם מְרֵמֹֽת׃ Chekhania, Rehoum, Merêmot;

4 עִדּ֥וֹא גִנְּת֖וֹי אֲבִיָּֽה׃ Iddo, Ghinnetoï, Abia;

5 מִיָּמִ֥ין מַֽעַדְיָ֖ה בִּלְגָּֽה׃ Miyamin, Maadia, Bilga;

6 שְׁמַֽעְיָ֥ה וְיוֹיָרִ֖יב יְדַֽעְיָֽה׃ Chemaïa, Yoyarib, Yedaïa;

7 סַלּ֣וּ עָמ֔וֹק חִלְקִיָּ֖ה יְדַֽעְיָ֑ה אֵ֣לֶּה רָאשֵׁ֧י הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים וַאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם בִּימֵ֥י יֵשֽׁוּעַ׃ {פ}
Sallou, Amok, Hilkia, Yedaïa. Voilà quels étaient les chefs des prêtres et de leurs frères au temps de Yêchoua.

8 וְהַלְוִיִּ֗ם יֵשׁ֧וּעַ בִּנּ֛וּי קַדְמִיאֵ֥ל שֵׁרֵבְיָ֖ה יְהוּדָ֣ה מַתַּנְיָ֑ה עַֽל־הֻיְּד֖וֹת ה֥וּא וְאֶחָֽיו׃ Les Lévites étaient: Yêchoua, Binnoui, Kadmiêl, Chèrèbia, Juda, Mattania, préposé aux cantiques, lui et ses frères;

9 וּבַקְבֻּֽקְיָ֨ה (וענו) [וְעֻנִּ֧י] אֲחֵיהֶ֛ם לְנֶגְדָּ֖ם לְמִשְׁמָרֽוֹת׃ Bakboukia et Ounni, leurs frères, les assistaient selon l’ordre des sections.

10 וְיֵשׁ֖וּעַ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יֽוֹיָקִ֑ים וְיֽוֹיָקִים֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אֶלְיָשִׁ֔יב וְאֶלְיָשִׁ֖יב אֶת־יוֹיָדָֽע׃ Yêchoua engendra Joïakim, Joïakim engendra Elyachib, Elyachib engendra Joïada;

11 וְיוֹיָדָע֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יוֹנָתָ֔ן וְיוֹנָתָ֖ן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־יַדּֽוּעַ׃ Joïada engendra Jonathan, Jonathan engendra Yaddoua.

12 וּבִימֵי֙ יֽוֹיָקִ֔ים הָי֥וּ כֹהֲנִ֖ים רָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֑וֹת לִשְׂרָיָ֣ה מְרָיָ֔ה לְיִרְמְיָ֖ה חֲנַנְיָֽה׃ Voici les prêtres qui furent, au temps de Joïakim, chefs des familles: pour Seraïa, Meraïa; pour Jérémie, Hanania;

13 לְעֶזְרָ֣א מְשֻׁלָּ֔ם לַאֲמַרְיָ֖ה יְהוֹחָנָֽן׃ pour Ezra, Mechoullam; pour Amaria, Johanan;

14 (למלוכי) [לִמְלִ֙יכוּ֙] יֽוֹנָתָ֔ן לִשְׁבַנְיָ֖ה יוֹסֵֽף׃ pour Melikhou, Jonathan; pour Chebania, Joseph;

15 לְחָרִ֣ם עַדְנָ֔א לִמְרָי֖וֹת חֶלְקָֽי׃ pour Harim, Adna; pour Meraïot, Helkaï;

16 (לעדיא) [לְעִדּ֥וֹא] זְכַרְיָ֖ה לְגִנְּת֥וֹן מְשֻׁלָּֽם׃ pour Iddo, Zacharie; pour Ghinnetôn, Mechoullam;

17 לַאֲבִיָּ֖ה זִכְרִ֑י לְמִ֨נְיָמִ֔ין לְמוֹעַדְיָ֖ה פִּלְטָֽי׃ pour Abia, Zikhri; pour Miniamin, pour Moadia, Piltaï;

18 לְבִלְגָּ֣ה שַׁמּ֔וּעַ לִֽשְׁמַעְיָ֖ה יְהוֹנָתָֽן׃ pour Bilga, Chammoua; pour Chemaïa, Jonathan;

19 וּלְיוֹיָרִ֣יב מַתְּנַ֔י לִֽידַֽעְיָ֖ה עֻזִּֽי׃ pour Yoyarib, Mattenaï; pour Yedaïa, Ouzzi;

20 לְסַלַּ֥י קַלָּ֖י לְעָמ֥וֹק עֵֽבֶר׃ pour Sallaï, Kaliaï, pour Amok, Eber;

21 לְחִלְקִיָּ֣ה חֲשַׁבְיָ֔ה לִֽידַֽעְיָ֖ה נְתַנְאֵֽל׃ pour Hilkia, Hachabia; pour Yedaïa, Nethanel.

22 הַלְוִיִּם֩ בִּימֵ֨י אֶלְיָשִׁ֜יב יוֹיָדָ֤ע וְיוֹחָנָן֙ וְיַדּ֔וּעַ כְּתוּבִ֖ים רָאשֵׁ֣י אָב֑וֹת וְהַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים עַל־מַלְכ֖וּת דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ הַפָּֽרְסִֽי׃ {פ}
En ce qui concerne les Lévites, leurs chefs de famille furent inscrits au temps d’Elyachib, de Joïada, de Johanan et de Yaddoua; de même pour les prêtres, jusqu’au règne de Darius le Perse.

23 בְּנֵ֤י לֵוִי֙ רָאשֵׁ֣י הָֽאָב֔וֹת כְּתוּבִ֕ים עַל־סֵ֖פֶר דִּבְרֵ֣י הַיָּמִ֑ים וְעַד־יְמֵ֖י יֽוֹחָנָ֥ן בֶּן־אֶלְיָשִֽׁיב׃ Fils de Lévi, chefs des familles, inscrits dans le livre des chroniques jusqu’aux jours de Johanan, fils d’Elyachib;

24 וְרָאשֵׁ֣י הַ֠לְוִיִּ֠ם חֲשַׁבְיָ֨ה שֵֽׁרֵבְיָ֜ה וְיֵשׁ֤וּעַ בֶּן־קַדְמִיאֵל֙ וַאֲחֵיהֶ֣ם לְנֶגְדָּ֔ם לְהַלֵּ֣ל לְהוֹד֔וֹת בְּמִצְוַ֖ת דָּוִ֣יד אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים מִשְׁמָ֖ר לְעֻמַּ֥ת מִשְׁמָֽר׃ ces chefs de Lévites étaient: Hachabia, Chèrèbia, Yêchoua, fils de Kadmiel, qu’assistaient leurs frères dans la récitation des louanges et actions de grâces, suivant le règlement de David, homme de Dieu, section par section;

25 מַתַּנְיָ֧ה וּבַקְבֻּֽקְיָ֛ה עֹבַדְיָ֥ה מְשֻׁלָּ֖ם טַלְמ֣וֹן עַקּ֑וּב שֹׁמְרִ֤ים שֽׁוֹעֲרִים֙ מִשְׁמָ֔ר בַּאֲסֻפֵּ֖י הַשְּׁעָרִֽים׃ Mattania, Bakboukia, Obadia, Mechoullam, Talmôn, Akkoub, surveillants, portiers préposés à la garde des magasins près des portes.

26 אֵ֕לֶּה בִּימֵ֛י יוֹיָקִ֥ים בֶּן־יֵשׁ֖וּעַ בֶּן־יוֹצָדָ֑ק וּבִימֵי֙ נְחֶמְיָ֣ה הַפֶּחָ֔ה וְעֶזְרָ֥א הַכֹּהֵ֖ן הַסּוֹפֵֽר׃ {פ}
Voilà ceux qui fonctionnaient au temps de Joïakim, fils de Yêchoua, fils de Joçadak, et au temps de Néhémie, le gouverneur, et du prêtre Ezra, le scribe.

27 וּבַחֲנֻכַּ֞ת חוֹמַ֣ת יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם בִּקְשׁ֤וּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם֙ מִכׇּל־מְק֣וֹמֹתָ֔ם לַהֲבִיאָ֖ם לִֽירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם לַעֲשֹׂ֨ת חֲנֻכָּ֤ה וְשִׂמְחָה֙ וּבְתוֹד֣וֹת וּבְשִׁ֔יר מְצִלְתַּ֖יִם נְבָלִ֥ים וּבְכִנֹּרֽוֹת׃ Lors de l’inauguration du mur de Jérusalem, on se mit en quête des Lévites dans tous leurs lieux d’habitation pour les amener à Jérusalem, afin de célébrer l’inauguration en une fête joyeuse, avec des actions de grâces et des chants, des cymbales, des lyres et des harpes.

28 וַיֵּאָ֣סְפ֔וּ בְּנֵ֖י הַמְשֹׁרְרִ֑ים וּמִן־הַכִּכָּר֙ סְבִיב֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וּמִן־חַצְרֵ֖י נְטֹפָתִֽי׃ Les membres des chœurs de chanteurs s’assemblèrent tant du district qui avoisine Jérusalem que des villages de Netofa,

29 וּמִבֵּית֙ הַגִּלְגָּ֔ל וּמִשְּׂד֥וֹת גֶּ֖בַע וְעַזְמָ֑וֶת כִּ֣י חֲצֵרִ֗ים בָּנ֤וּ לָהֶם֙ הַמְשֹׁ֣רְרִ֔ים סְבִיב֖וֹת יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ de Beth-Ghilgal et des campagnes de Ghéba et d’Azmaveth, car les chanteurs s’étaient bâti des villages autour de Jérusalem.

30 וַיִּֽטַּהֲר֔וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֑ם וַֽיְטַהֲרוּ֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וְאֶת־הַשְּׁעָרִ֖ים וְאֶת־הַחוֹמָֽה׃ Les prêtres et les Lévites se purifièrent, puis ils purifièrent le peuple, ainsi que les portes et les murs.

31 וָאַעֲלֶה֙ אֶת־שָׂרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל לַחוֹמָ֑ה וָאַעֲמִ֡ידָה שְׁתֵּ֣י תוֹדֹת֩ גְּדוֹלֹ֨ת וְתַהֲלֻכֹ֤ת לַיָּמִין֙ מֵעַ֣ל לַחוֹמָ֔ה לְשַׁ֖עַר הָאַשְׁפֹּֽת׃ Je fis monter les chefs de Juda sur la muraille et j’y plaçai deux grands chœurs avec des cortèges, [dont l’un] s’avança à droite sur la muraille vers la porte des ordures;

32 וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ אַחֲרֵיהֶם֙ הוֹשַׁ֣עְיָ֔ה וַחֲצִ֖י שָׂרֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃ à sa suite marchaient Hochaïa et la moitié des chefs de Juda,

33 וַעֲזַרְיָ֥ה עֶזְרָ֖א וּמְשֻׁלָּֽם׃ Azaria, Ezra, Mechoullam,

34 יְהוּדָה֙ וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן וּֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֖ה וְיִרְמְיָֽה׃ {פ}
Juda, Benjamin, Chemaïa et Jérémie.

35 וּמִבְּנֵ֥י הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים בַּחֲצֹצְר֑וֹת זְכַרְיָ֨ה בֶן־יֽוֹנָתָ֜ן בֶּן־שְׁמַֽעְיָ֗ה בֶּן־מַתַּנְיָה֙ בֶּן־מִ֣יכָיָ֔ה בֶּן־זַכּ֖וּר בֶּן־אָסָֽף׃ Puis une partie des prêtres avec des trompettes: Zacharie, fils de Jonathan, fils de Chemaïa, fils de Mattania, fils de Mikhaïa, fils de Zaccour, fils d’Assaph;

36 וְֽאֶחָ֡יו שְֽׁמַעְיָ֡ה וַעֲזַרְאֵ֡ל מִֽלְלַ֡י גִּֽלְלַ֡י מָעַ֞י נְתַנְאֵ֤ל וִֽיהוּדָה֙ חֲנָ֔נִי בִּכְלֵי־שִׁ֥יר דָּוִ֖יד אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְעֶזְרָ֥א הַסּוֹפֵ֖ר לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ ses frères: Chemaïa, Azarel, Milalaï, Ghilalaï, Maaï, Nethanel, Juda, Hanâni, munis des instruments de musique de David, homme de Dieu. A leur tête marchait Ezra le scribe.

37 וְעַל֩ שַׁ֨עַר הָעַ֜יִן וְנֶגְדָּ֗ם עָלוּ֙ עַֽל־מַעֲלוֹת֙ עִ֣יר דָּוִ֔יד בַּֽמַּעֲלֶ֖ה לַחוֹמָ֑ה מֵעַל֙ לְבֵ֣ית דָּוִ֔יד וְעַ֛ד שַׁ֥עַר הַמַּ֖יִם מִזְרָֽח׃ [Ils arrivèrent] à la porte de la source et gravirent droit devant eux, par les degrés de la ville de David, la montée du mur s’élevant au-dessus du palais du roi et jusqu’à la porte de l’eau à l’est.

38 וְהַתּוֹדָ֧ה הַשֵּׁנִ֛ית הַהוֹלֶ֥כֶת לְמ֖וֹאל וַאֲנִ֣י אַחֲרֶ֑יהָ וַחֲצִ֨י הָעָ֜ם מֵעַ֣ל לְהַחוֹמָ֗ה מֵעַל֙ לְמִגְדַּ֣ל הַתַּנּוּרִ֔ים וְעַ֖ד הַחוֹמָ֥ה הָרְחָבָֽה׃ Le deuxième chœur, qui se dirigeait à l’opposite, et que je suivais avec la moitié du peuple, s’avança sur le mur au-dessus de la tour des fours, et jusqu’au rempart large;

39 וּמֵעַ֣ל לְשַֽׁעַר־אֶ֠פְרַ֠יִם וְעַל־שַׁ֨עַר הַיְשָׁנָ֜ה וְעַל־שַׁ֣עַר הַדָּגִ֗ים וּמִגְדַּ֤ל חֲנַנְאֵל֙ וּמִגְדַּ֣ל הַמֵּאָ֔ה וְעַ֖ד שַׁ֣עַר הַצֹּ֑אן וְעָ֣מְד֔וּ בְּשַׁ֖עַר הַמַּטָּרָֽה׃ puis au-dessus de la porte d’Ephraïm, de la porte vieille, de la porte des poissons, de la tour de Hananel, de la tour des cent jusqu’à la porte des brebis; on s’arrêta à la porte de la prison.

40 וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֛דְנָה שְׁתֵּ֥י הַתּוֹדֹ֖ת בְּבֵ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַאֲנִ֕י וַחֲצִ֥י הַסְּגָנִ֖ים עִמִּֽי׃ Les deux chœurs prirent place près de la maison de Dieu, moi présent et accompagné de la moitié des chefs,

41 וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֡ים אֶלְיָקִ֡ים מַעֲשֵׂיָ֡ה מִ֠נְיָמִ֠ין מִיכָיָ֧ה אֶלְיוֹעֵינַ֛י זְכַרְיָ֥ה חֲנַנְיָ֖ה בַּחֲצֹצְרֽוֹת׃ ainsi que des prêtres Elyakim, Maassèya, Miniamim, Mikhaïa, Elyoènaï, Zacharie, Hanania, munis de trompettes,

42 וּמַעֲשֵׂיָ֨ה וּֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֜ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֧ר וְעֻזִּ֛י וִֽיהוֹחָנָ֥ן וּמַלְכִּיָּ֖ה וְעֵילָ֣ם וָעָ֑זֶר וַיַּשְׁמִ֙יעוּ֙ הַמְשֹׁ֣רְרִ֔ים וְיִֽזְרַחְיָ֖ה הַפָּקִֽיד׃ et de Maassèya, Chemaïa, Eléazar, Ouzzi, Johanan, Malkia, Elam et Ezer. Les chanteurs se firent entendre, ayant Israhia pour chef.

43 וַיִּזְבְּח֣וּ בַיּוֹם־הַ֠ה֠וּא זְבָחִ֨ים גְּדוֹלִ֜ים וַיִּשְׂמָ֗חוּ כִּ֤י הָאֱלֹהִים֙ שִׂמְּחָם֙ שִׂמְחָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וְגַ֧ם הַנָּשִׁ֛ים וְהַיְלָדִ֖ים שָׂמֵ֑חוּ וַתִּשָּׁמַ֛ע שִׂמְחַ֥ת יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם מֵרָחֽוֹק׃ Ils immolèrent en ce jour de nombreux sacrifices et se livrèrent à des réjouissances, car Dieu leur avait donné une grande joie; les femmes et les enfants se réjouirent également, et les démonstrations de joie de Jérusalem furent entendues au loin.

44 וַיִּפָּקְד֣וּ בַיּוֹם֩ הַה֨וּא אֲנָשִׁ֜ים עַל־הַנְּשָׁכ֗וֹת לָא֨וֹצָר֥וֹת לַתְּרוּמוֹת֮ לָרֵאשִׁ֣ית וְלַמַּֽעַשְׂרוֹת֒ לִכְנ֨וֹס בָּהֶ֜ם לִשְׂדֵ֤י הֶעָרִים֙ מְנָא֣וֹת הַתּוֹרָ֔ה לַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְלַלְוִיִּ֑ם כִּ֚י שִׂמְחַ֣ת יְהוּדָ֔ה עַל־הַכֹּהֲנִ֥ים וְעַל־הַלְוִיִּ֖ם הָעֹמְדִֽים׃ En ce même temps, des hommes furent préposés aux salles servant de dépôt pour les prélèvements, les prémices et les dîmes, et où affluèrent, des banlieues des villes, les parts attribuées par la Thora aux prêtres et aux Lévites; car Juda était ravi des prêtres et des Lévites, qui étaient à leur poste,

45 וַֽיִּשְׁמְר֞וּ מִשְׁמֶ֤רֶת אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶם֙ וּמִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַֽטׇּהֳרָ֔ה וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֖ים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִ֑ים כְּמִצְוַ֥ת דָּוִ֖יד שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה בְנֽוֹ׃ veillant aux observances de leur Dieu et au maintien de la pureté; quant aux chanteurs et aux portiers, [ils fonctionnaient] selon les prescriptions de David et de son fils Salomon.

46 כִּֽי־בִימֵ֥י דָוִ֛יד וְאָסָ֖ף מִקֶּ֑דֶם (ראש) [רָאשֵׁי֙] הַמְשֹׁ֣רְרִ֔ים וְשִׁיר־תְּהִלָּ֥ה וְהֹד֖וֹת לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃ En effet, dès les jours de David et d’Assaph, dans les temps antiques, il y avait des chefs de chanteurs et des chants de louanges et d’actions de grâces à Dieu.

47 וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֩ בִּימֵ֨י זְרֻבָּבֶ֜ל וּבִימֵ֣י נְחֶמְיָ֗ה נֹ֥תְנִ֛ים מְנָי֛וֹת הַמְשֹׁרְרִ֥ים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִ֖ים דְּבַר־י֣וֹם בְּיוֹמ֑וֹ וּמַקְדִּשִׁים֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְהַ֨לְוִיִּ֔ם מַקְדִּשִׁ֖ים לִבְנֵ֥י אַהֲרֹֽן׃ {פ}
Et au temps de Zorobabel comme au temps de Néhémie, tous les Israélites donnaient les parts des chanteurs et des portiers, suivant les besoins de chaque jour, et consacraient aux Lévites [leur dû] et les Lévites consacraient [leur dû] aux fils d’Aaron.

[(And in those chambers the priests and the Levites would take their respective portions.)] For the joy of Judah was over the priests and the Levites who stood [there rejoicing before the L-rd].
