9

1 חׇ֭כְמוֹת בָּנְתָ֣ה בֵיתָ֑הּ חָצְבָ֖ה עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ שִׁבְעָֽה׃ La Sagesse s’est bâti une maison, elle en a sculpté les sept colonnes.

2 טָבְחָ֣ה טִ֭בְחָהּ מָסְכָ֣ה יֵינָ֑הּ אַ֝֗ף עָרְכָ֥ה שֻׁלְחָנָֽהּ׃ Elle a tué des animaux pour son festin, mélangé son vin et dressé sa table.

3 שָׁלְחָ֣ה נַעֲרֹתֶ֣יהָ תִקְרָ֑א עַל־גַּ֝פֵּ֗י מְרֹ֣מֵי קָֽרֶת׃ Elle a mis en campagne ses servantes; elle lance ses invitations du haut des éminences de la cité:

4 מִֽי־פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה חֲסַר־לֵ֝֗ב אָ֣מְרָה לּֽוֹ׃ "Quiconque a l’esprit faible vienne de ce côté!" A celui qui est dépourvu d’intelligence, elle adresse la parole:

5 לְ֭כוּ לַחֲמ֣וּ בְֽלַחֲמִ֑י וּ֝שְׁת֗וּ בְּיַ֣יִן מָסָֽכְתִּי׃ "Venez, mangez de mon pain et buvez du vin que j’ai mélangé.

6 עִזְב֣וּ פְתָאיִ֣ם וִֽחְי֑וּ וְ֝אִשְׁר֗וּ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ בִּינָֽה׃ Laissez-là la sottise et vous vivrez; dirigez vos pas dans la voie de la raison!"

7 יֹ֤סֵ֨ר ׀ לֵ֗ץ לֹקֵ֣חַֽ ל֣וֹ קָל֑וֹן וּמוֹכִ֖יחַ לְרָשָׁ֣ע מוּמֽוֹ׃ Morigéner le moqueur, c’est s’attirer des avanies, réprimander le méchant, c’est se marquer d’une tare.

8 אַל־תּ֣וֹכַח לֵ֭ץ פֶּן־יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ הוֹכַ֥ח לְ֝חָכָ֗ם וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃ Ne morigène pas le railleur, car il te haïrait; fais des remontrances au sage, et il t’en aimera davantage.

9 תֵּ֣ן לְ֭חָכָם וְיֶחְכַּם־ע֑וֹד הוֹדַ֥ע לְ֝צַדִּ֗יק וְי֣וֹסֶף לֶֽקַח׃ Donne une leçon au sage, et il deviendra plus sage; instruis l’homme de bien, et il enrichira son savoir.

10 תְּחִלַּ֣ת חׇ֭כְמָה יִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה וְדַ֖עַת קְדֹשִׁ֣ים בִּינָֽה׃ Le commencement de la sagesse, c’est la crainte du Seigneur, et la connaissance du Très-Saint, c’est là la saine raison.

11 כִּי־בִ֭י יִרְבּ֣וּ יָמֶ֑יךָ וְיוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְּ֝ךָ֗ שְׁנ֣וֹת חַיִּֽים׃ Certes, c’est grâce à moi que se multiplieront tes jours et que te seront dispensées de longues années de vie.

12 אִם־חָ֭כַמְתָּ חָכַ֣מְתָּ לָּ֑ךְ וְ֝לַ֗צְתָּ לְֽבַדְּךָ֥ תִשָּֽׂא׃ Si tu deviens sage, c’est pour ton bien; si tu deviens un persifleur, toi seul en porteras la peine.

13 אֵ֣שֶׁת כְּ֭סִילוּת הֹמִיָּ֑ה פְּ֝תַיּ֗וּת וּבַל־יָ֥דְעָה מָּֽה׃ Commère, la folie est bruyante, légère, inconsciente.

14 וְֽ֭יָשְׁבָה לְפֶ֣תַח בֵּיתָ֑הּ עַל־כִּ֝סֵּ֗א מְרֹ֣מֵי קָֽרֶת׃ Elle s’assied à l’entrée de sa maison, trône sur les hauteurs de la cité,

15 לִקְרֹ֥א לְעֹֽבְרֵי־דָ֑רֶךְ הַֽ֝מְיַשְּׁרִ֗ים אֹֽרְחוֹתָֽם׃ pour appeler les passants, qui vont droit leur chemin:

16 מִֽי־פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה וַחֲסַר־לֵ֝֗ב וְאָ֣מְרָה לּֽוֹ׃ "Quiconque a l’esprit faible vienne de ce côté!" A celui qui est dépourvu d’Intelligence elle adresse la parole:

17 מַֽיִם־גְּנוּבִ֥ים יִמְתָּ֑קוּ וְלֶ֖חֶם סְתָרִ֣ים יִנְעָֽם׃ "Suave est l’eau volée, délicieux le pain dérobé!"

18 וְֽלֹא־יָ֭דַע כִּֽי־רְפָאִ֣ים שָׁ֑ם בְּעִמְקֵ֖י שְׁא֣וֹל קְרֻאֶֽיהָ׃ {פ}
Il ne sait pas, lui, que là est le séjour des ombres, que les convives de cette femme sont déjà dans les profondeurs du Cheol!

תחלת חכמה יראת ה' - כטעם: ראשית חכמה יראת ה'.

ודעת קדושים בינה - טעמו ותחלת הבינה דעת קדושים.

ודעת קדושים - פירשוהו על השם יתברך, כאמרו: כי אלהים קדושים. והטעם: כי תחלת תולדת הבינה היא מציאות השם. ויתכן לפרש: דעת קדושים היא השגת מציאות השכלים הנפרדים והרוחניות כלם, כי ידיעת מציאותם עיקר הבינה וממנה יעלה למציאות המעלה העליונה, וכמו שאם אין יראה אין חכמה, כן אם אין דעת אין בינה.
