1 לְדָוִ֨ד ׀ אוֹדְךָ֥ בְכׇל־לִבִּ֑י נֶ֖גֶד אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲזַמְּרֶֽךָּ׃ De David. Je te rendrai hommage de tout mon cœur; en ta présence, ô Dieu, je te célébrerai.

2 אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֨ה אֶל־הֵיכַ֪ל קׇדְשְׁךָ֡ וְא֘וֹדֶ֤ה אֶת־שְׁמֶ֗ךָ עַל־חַסְדְּךָ֥ וְעַל־אֲמִתֶּ֑ךָ כִּֽי־הִגְדַּ֥לְתָּ עַל־כׇּל־שִׁ֝מְךָ֗ אִמְרָתֶֽךָ׃ Je me prosternerai dans ton saint tabernacle, et je louerai ton nom pour ta bonté et ta bienveillance; car tu as élevé au-dessus de tout ton nom, ta parole.

3 בְּי֣וֹם קָ֭רָֽאתִי וַֽתַּעֲנֵ֑נִי תַּרְהִבֵ֖נִי בְנַפְשִׁ֣י עֹֽז׃ Le jour où je t’appelai, tu me répondis, tu me donnas du courage en fortifiant mon âme.

4 יוֹד֣וּךָ יְ֭הֹוָה כׇּל־מַלְכֵי־אָ֑רֶץ כִּ֥י שָׁ֝מְע֗וּ אִמְרֵי־פִֽיךָ׃ Tous les rois de la terre, ô Éternel, te rendront hommage, après avoir entendu les paroles de ta bouche;

5 וְ֭יָשִׁירוּ בְּדַרְכֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּֽי־גָ֝ד֗וֹל כְּב֣וֹד יְהֹוָֽה׃ ils chanteront les voies du Seigneur, car grande est la gloire de l’Éternel.

6 כִּי־רָ֣ם יְ֭הֹוָה וְשָׁפָ֣ל יִרְאֶ֑ה וְ֝גָבֹ֗הַּ מִמֶּרְחָ֥ק יְיֵדָֽע׃ Oui, l’Éternel réside dans les hauteurs et il voit celui qui est humble, comme il discerne de loin celui qui est élevé.

7 אִם־אֵלֵ֤ךְ ׀ בְּקֶ֥רֶב צָרָ֗ה תְּחַ֫יֵּ֥נִי עַ֤ל אַ֣ף אֹ֭יְבַי תִּשְׁלַ֣ח יָדֶ֑ךָ וְת֖וֹשִׁיעֵ֣נִי יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ Quand je m’avance en pleine détresse, c’est toi qui préserves ma vie; tu appesantis ta main sur mes ennemis en fureur, et ta droite me prête assistance.

8 יְהֹוָה֮ יִגְמֹ֢ר בַּ֫עֲדִ֥י יְ֭הֹוָה חַסְדְּךָ֣ לְעוֹלָ֑ם מַעֲשֵׂ֖י יָדֶ֣יךָ אַל־תֶּֽרֶף׃ {פ}
L’Éternel mettra le comble à ses bienfaits envers moi; ta bonté, ô Seigneur, dure à jamais: ne laisse pas inachevées les œuvres de tes mains.

אשתחוה - יש אומרים: כי היכל קדשך - השמים וזה רחוק, בעבור אשתחוה. והנכון: שהוא המקום שהיה שם הארון, מצאנו בכל ספר כל שמך בקמץ חטף, על כן לא דבר נכונה המפרש שאמר כי הגדלת על כל בחולם. והפעול שמך ותחסר וי"ו ואמרתך. והנכון בעיני: כי יש לשם הנכבד שמות תואר, כמו: אדני הקמוץ גם אלהים ואל שדי רק שם העצם הוא הנכתב ואיננו נקרא, הוא הנכבד והנורא על הכל וזה השם לא נודע, עד שבא משה אדונינו והשם אמר לו זה השם וזה הוא ואודה את שמך - שהוא שם העצם.

והנה הטעם כי הגדלת על כל - שם שיש לך שהם שמות התואר השם הנכבד שאמרת.

על חסדך ועל אמתך. החסד שנתן לו המלוכה כאשר הבטיחו ארי שעברו עליו צרות רבות ומכולם הצילהו:

כי הגדלת על כל שמך אמרתיך. כמו הפוך כי הגדלת על כל אמרתך שמך, ופי' בפסוק לענין שאמר ועל אמרתך כמו שפירשנו שקיים לו מה שהבטיחו, אמר על זה הגדלת שמך על כל אמרתך שאתה אומר ועושה גוזר ומקיים, וע"ז הגדלת שמך שיאמרו הכל יגדל ה' כל מה שאומר עושה כמו שעשית עמי מה שהבטחתני אחרי אשר אמרו הכל כי לא תהיה לי המלוכה כי ראו טלטולי גדול:
