1 מִזְמ֡וֹר שִׁיר־חֲנֻכַּ֖ת הַבַּ֣יִת לְדָוִֽד׃ Psaume. Cantique de la dédicace du temple; par David.

2 אֲרוֹמִמְךָ֣ יְ֭הֹוָה כִּ֣י דִלִּיתָ֑נִי וְלֹֽא־שִׂמַּ֖חְתָּ אֹיְבַ֣י לִֽי׃ Je t’exalterai, Seigneur, car tu m’as relevé; tu n’as pas réjoui mes ennemis à mes dépens.

3 יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָ֑י שִׁוַּ֥עְתִּי אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ וַתִּרְפָּאֵֽנִי׃ Éternel, mon Dieu, je t’ai invoqué, et tu m’as guéri:

4 יְֽהֹוָ֗ה הֶעֱלִ֣יתָ מִן־שְׁא֣וֹל נַפְשִׁ֑י חִ֝יִּיתַ֗נִי (מיורדי) [מִיׇּֽרְדִי־]בֽוֹר׃ Seigneur, tu as fait remonter mon âme du Cheol, tu m’as permis de vivre, de ne pas descendre au tombeau.

5 זַמְּר֣וּ לַיהֹוָ֣ה חֲסִידָ֑יו וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ לְזֵ֣כֶר קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃ Chantez l’Éternel, vous ses fidèles, rendez grâce à son saint nom;

6 כִּ֤י רֶ֨גַע ׀ בְּאַפּוֹ֮ חַיִּ֢ים בִּרְצ֫וֹנ֥וֹ בָּ֭עֶרֶב יָלִ֥ין בֶּ֗כִי וְלַבֹּ֥קֶר רִנָּֽה׃ car sa colère ne dure qu’un instant, mais sa bienveillance est pour la vie; le soir dominent les pleurs, le matin, c’est l’allégresse.

7 וַ֭אֲנִי אָמַ֣רְתִּי בְשַׁלְוִ֑י בַּל־אֶמּ֥וֹט לְעוֹלָֽם׃ J’avais dit en ma quiétude: "Jamais je ne chancellerai."

8 יְֽהֹוָ֗ה בִּרְצוֹנְךָ֮ הֶעֱמַ֢דְתָּה לְֽהַרְרִ֫י־עֹ֥ז הִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ פָנֶ֗יךָ הָיִ֥יתִי נִבְהָֽל׃ Seigneur, dans ta bonté, tu avais puissamment fortifié ma montagne. Mais tu as caché ta face: j’ai été consterné!

9 אֵלֶ֣יךָ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֶקְרָ֑א וְאֶל־אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃ C’est vers toi que je crie, c’est à mon Seigneur que vont mes supplications:

10 מַה־בֶּ֥צַע בְּדָמִי֮ בְּרִדְתִּ֢י אֶ֫ל־שָׁ֥חַת הֲיוֹדְךָ֥ עָפָ֑ר הֲיַגִּ֥יד אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ "Que gagnes-tu à ce que mon sang coule? A ce que je descende au tombeau? La poussière te rend-elle hommage? Proclame-t-elle ta persistante bonté?

11 שְׁמַע־יְהֹוָ֥ה וְחׇנֵּ֑נִי יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה הֱֽיֵה־עֹזֵ֥ר לִֽי׃ Écoute, ô Seigneur, et prends-moi en pitié! Éternel, sois mon sauveur!"

12 הָפַ֣כְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי֮ לְמָח֢וֹל לִ֥֫י פִּתַּ֥חְתָּ שַׂקִּ֑י וַֽתְּאַזְּרֵ֥נִי שִׂמְחָֽה׃ Tu as changé mon deuil en danses joyeuses, tu as dénoué mon cilice, et de la joie tu m’as fait une ceinture.

13 לְמַ֤עַן ׀ יְזַמֶּרְךָ֣ כָ֭בוֹד וְלֹ֣א יִדֹּ֑ם יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י לְעוֹלָ֥ם אוֹדֶֽךָּ׃ {פ}
De la sorte mon âme te chantera sans relâche; Éternel, mon Dieu, à tout jamais je te célébrerai.

I will exalt You, O Lord, for You have raised me up Heb. דליתני, You have lifted me on high.

and You have not allowed my enemies to rejoice over me Heb. לי, like עלי, over me, for they would say, “David has no share in the world to come,” but when they saw that the doors opened for the Ark because of me, then they knew that the Holy One, blessed be He, had forgiven me for that sin, and the faces of David’s enemies became as black as the bottom of a pot.
