1 לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ ׀ עַֽל־הַגִּתִּ֬ית לְאָסָֽף׃ Au chef des chantres. Sur la Ghitit. D’Assaph.

2 הַ֭רְנִינוּ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים עוּזֵּ֑נוּ הָ֝רִ֗יעוּ לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃ Célébrez Dieu, notre force, acclamez le Dieu de Jacob!

3 שְֽׂאוּ־זִ֭מְרָה וּתְנוּ־תֹ֑ף כִּנּ֖וֹר נָעִ֣ים עִם־נָֽבֶל׃ Chantez des hymnes, faites retentir le tambourin, la harpe suave ainsi que le luth,

4 תִּקְע֣וּ בַחֹ֣דֶשׁ שׁוֹפָ֑ר בַּ֝כֵּ֗סֶה לְי֣וֹם חַגֵּֽנוּ׃ sonnez le Chofar à la nouvelle lune, au jour fixé pour notre solennité.

5 כִּ֤י חֹ֣ק לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ה֑וּא מִ֝שְׁפָּ֗ט לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃ Car c’est une loi en Israël, une coutume en l’honneur du Dieu de Jacob;

6 עֵד֤וּת ׀ בִּיה֘וֹסֵ֤ף שָׂמ֗וֹ בְּ֭צֵאתוֹ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם שְׂפַ֖ת לֹא־יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֶשְׁמָֽע׃ c’est un témoignage qu’il établit dans Joseph, quand il marcha contre l’Égypte. J’entendis alors des accents inconnus pour moi…

7 הֲסִיר֣וֹתִי מִסֵּ֣בֶל שִׁכְמ֑וֹ כַּ֝פָּ֗יו מִדּ֥וּד תַּעֲבֹֽרְנָה׃ J’ai déchargé du fardeau son épaule, ses mains sont affranchies du lourd panier.

8 בַּצָּרָ֥ה קָרָ֗אתָ וָאֲחַ֫לְּצֶ֥ךָּ אֶ֭עֶנְךָ בְּסֵ֣תֶר רַ֑עַם אֶבְחׇנְךָ֨ עַל־מֵ֖י מְרִיבָ֣ה סֶֽלָה׃ Dans la détresse tu as appelé, et je t’ai délivré, je t’ai exaucé du sein mystérieux de la foudre, je t’ai éprouvé auprès des eaux de Meriba. Sélah!

9 שְׁמַ֣ע עַ֭מִּי וְאָעִ֣ידָה בָּ֑ךְ יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל אִם־תִּֽשְׁמַֽע־לִֽי׃ "Écoute, mon peuple, je veux t’adjurer; ô Israël, puisses-tu m’écouter!

10 לֹא־יִהְיֶ֣ה בְ֭ךָ אֵ֣ל זָ֑ר וְלֹ֥א תִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה לְאֵ֣ל נֵכָֽר׃ Qu’il n’y ait pas chez toi de divinité étrangère, ne te prosterne pas devant un dieu du dehors.

11 אָֽנֹכִ֨י ׀ יְ֘הֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ הַֽ֭מַּעַלְךָ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם הַרְחֶב־פִּ֝֗יךָ וַאֲמַלְאֵֽהוּ׃ Je suis, moi, l’Éternel, ton Dieu qui t’ai tiré du pays d’Égypte. Ouvre largement ta bouche et je la remplirai."

12 וְלֹא־שָׁמַ֣ע עַמִּ֣י לְקוֹלִ֑י וְ֝יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לֹא־אָ֥בָה לִֽי׃ Mais mon peuple n’a pas écouté ma voix, Israël a refusé de m’obéir.

13 וָ֭אֲשַׁלְּחֵהוּ בִּשְׁרִיר֣וּת לִבָּ֑ם יֵ֝לְכ֗וּ בְּֽמוֹעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ Je les ai donc abandonnés à l’entraînement de leur cœur, ils suivirent leurs propres inspirations.

14 ל֗וּ עַ֭מִּי שֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ לִ֑י יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל בִּדְרָכַ֥י יְהַלֵּֽכוּ׃ Ah! si mon peuple voulait m’écouter, Israël marcher dans mes voies,

15 כִּ֭מְעַט אוֹיְבֵיהֶ֣ם אַכְנִ֑יעַ וְעַ֥ל צָ֝רֵיהֶ֗ם אָשִׁ֥יב יָדִֽי׃ bien vite, je dompterais leurs ennemis, je ferais peser ma main sur leurs adversaires.

16 מְשַׂנְאֵ֣י יְ֭הֹוָה יְכַחֲשׁוּ־ל֑וֹ וִיהִ֖י עִתָּ֣ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃ Ceux qui haïssent l’Éternel ramperaient devant lui, mais leur bonheur, à eux, durerait toujours.

17 וַֽ֭יַּאֲכִילֵהוּ מֵחֵ֣לֶב חִטָּ֑ה וּ֝מִצּ֗וּר דְּבַ֣שׁ אַשְׂבִּיעֶֽךָ׃ {פ}
Il les nourrirait de la mœlle du froment, et les rassasierait avec le miel des rochers.

משנאי, יכחשו - כמו: יכחשו לך אויביך, מרוב פחדם יכחשו שלא מרדו בך, או על דרך ויכחשו אויביך לך, מטעם ובשרי כחש משמן.

ויהי עתם - כי בא יומו ולעולם לא יקומו. ורבי יהודה בן בלעם אמר: כן ועל צריהם אשיב ידי שהם משנאי ה' כי הם מכחשים אלהותו ויחשבו כי עד לעולם יעמודו וזה פירוש ארוך ואיננו על משפט לשון הקדש הלא ראה וקרוב לבא עתה ורבים ככה:
