1 שִׁ֖יר מִזְמ֣וֹר לְאָסָֽף׃ Cantique. Psaume d’Assaph.

2 אֱלֹהִ֥ים אַל־דֳּמִי־לָ֑ךְ אַל־תֶּחֱרַ֖שׁ וְאַל־תִּשְׁקֹ֣ט אֵֽל׃ O Dieu, n’arrête plus ton action, ne garde pas le silence, ne reste pas en repos, ô Tout-Puissant!

3 כִּֽי־הִנֵּ֣ה א֭וֹיְבֶיךָ יֶהֱמָי֑וּן וּ֝מְשַׂנְאֶ֗יךָ נָ֣שְׂאוּ רֹֽאשׁ׃ Car voilà tes ennemis qui s’agitent en tumulte, et tes adversaires qui lèvent la tête.

4 עַֽל־עַ֭מְּךָ יַעֲרִ֣ימוּ ס֑וֹד וְ֝יִתְיָעֲצ֗וּ עַל־צְפוּנֶֽיךָ׃ Contre ton peuple ils ourdissent des complots; ils se concertent contre ceux que tu protèges.

5 אָמְר֗וּ לְ֭כוּ וְנַכְחִידֵ֣ם מִגּ֑וֹי וְלֹֽא־יִזָּכֵ֖ר שֵֽׁם־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל עֽוֹד׃ Ils disent: "Allons, rayons-les du nombre des nations; que le nom d’Israël ne soit plus mentionné!"

6 כִּ֤י נוֹעֲצ֣וּ לֵ֣ב יַחְדָּ֑ו עָ֝לֶ֗יךָ בְּרִ֣ית יִכְרֹֽתוּ׃ Car, d’un commun accord, ils prennent des résolutions, contre toi ils font un pacte:

7 אׇהֳלֵ֣י אֱ֭דוֹם וְיִשְׁמְעֵאלִ֗ים מוֹאָ֥ב וְהַגְרִֽים׃ les tentes d’Edom et les Ismaélites, Moabites et Hagrites,

8 גְּבָ֣ל וְ֭עַמּוֹן וַעֲמָלֵ֑ק פְּ֝לֶ֗שֶׁת עִם־יֹ֥שְׁבֵי צֽוֹר׃ Ghebal, Ammon et Amalec, les Philistins ainsi que les habitants de Tyr;

9 גַּם־אַ֭שּׁוּר נִלְוָ֣ה עִמָּ֑ם הָ֤יֽוּ־זְר֖וֹעַ לִבְנֵי־ל֣וֹט סֶֽלָה׃ Achour aussi se joint à eux; ils prêtent main-forte aux fils de Loth. Sélah!

10 עֲשֵֽׂה־לָהֶ֥ם כְּמִדְיָ֑ן כְּֽסִיסְרָ֥א כְ֝יָבִ֗ין בְּנַ֣חַל קִישֽׁוֹן׃ Traite-les comme tu as traité Madian, Sisara et Jabin près du torrent de Kison,

11 נִשְׁמְד֥וּ בְֽעֵין־דֹּ֑אר הָ֥יוּ דֹ֝֗מֶן לָאֲדָמָֽה׃ qui furent anéantis à Endor, couchés sur le sol comme du fumier.

12 שִׁיתֵ֣מוֹ נְ֭דִיבֵימוֹ כְּעֹרֵ֣ב וְכִזְאֵ֑ב וּֽכְזֶ֥בַח וּ֝כְצַלְמֻנָּ֗ע כׇּל־נְסִיכֵֽימוֹ׃ Rends leur noble pareille à Oreb et à Zeêb, et tous leurs princes, pareils à Zébah et Çalmouna,

13 אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָ֭מְרוּ נִ֣ירְשָׁה לָּ֑נוּ אֵ֝֗ת נְא֣וֹת אֱלֹהִֽים׃ car ils ont dit: "Emparons-nous des demeures de Dieu."

14 אֱֽלֹהַ֗י שִׁיתֵ֥מוֹ כַגַּלְגַּ֑ל כְּ֝קַ֗שׁ לִפְנֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ Mon Dieu, fais d’eux comme un tourbillon de poussière, comme du chaume emporté par le vent.

15 כְּאֵ֥שׁ תִּבְעַר־יָ֑עַר וּ֝כְלֶהָבָ֗ה תְּלַהֵ֥ט הָרִֽים׃ De même que le feu dévore les forêts, que la flamme embrase les montagnes,

16 כֵּ֭ן תִּרְדְּפֵ֣ם בְּסַעֲרֶ֑ךָ וּבְסוּפָתְךָ֥ תְבַהֲלֵֽם׃ ainsi pourchasse-les par ta tempête, jette-les dans une fuite éperdue par ton ouragan.

17 מַלֵּ֣א פְנֵיהֶ֣ם קָל֑וֹן וִיבַקְשׁ֖וּ שִׁמְךָ֣ יְהֹוָֽה׃ Couvre leur visage d’opprobre, pour qu’ils recherchent ton nom, ô Éternel.

18 יֵבֹ֖שׁוּ וְיִבָּהֲל֥וּ עֲדֵי־עַ֗ד וְֽיַחְפְּר֥וּ וְיֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ Qu’ils soient confondus, terrifiés à jamais, saisis de honte et perdus.

19 וְֽיֵדְע֗וּ כִּי־אַתָּ֬ה שִׁמְךָ֣ יְהֹוָ֣ה לְבַדֶּ֑ךָ עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן עַל־כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ {פ}
Qu’ils reconnaissent ainsi que toi seul as nom Éternel, que tu es le Maître suprême de toute la terre.

Also Assyria Even Assyria, which until that day was careful of other foolish counsels and would not join evildoers, as it says (Gen. 10:11): “From that land Asshur went forth,” that he left the counsel of the generation of dispersion [which built the tower], joined them here and assisted them for evil. (In other commentaries I found this:) Also Assyria joined them, etc. Also this one, who initially loved good deeds—for he separated from Nimrod’s counsel, as it is said: “From that land Asshur went forth”—he too reverted to wickedness. Therefore, he participated in destroying Your temple. Genesis Rabbah 37:4.
