1 בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶה֙ מָק֣וֹר נִפְתָּ֔ח לְבֵ֥ית דָּוִ֖יד וּלְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם לְחַטַּ֖את וּלְנִדָּֽה׃ En ce jour, une source s’ouvrira à la maison de David et aux habitants de Jérusalem [pour donner] de l’eau expiatoire et de l’eau lustrale.

2 וְהָיָה֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא נְאֻ֣ם ׀ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת אַכְרִ֞ית אֶת־שְׁמ֤וֹת הָעֲצַבִּים֙ מִן־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְלֹ֥א יִזָּכְר֖וּ ע֑וֹד וְגַ֧ם אֶת־הַנְּבִיאִ֛ים וְאֶת־ר֥וּחַ הַטֻּמְאָ֖ה אַעֲבִ֥יר מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Il arrivera, en ce jour, dit l’Éternel-Cebaot, que j’éliminerai de ce pays les noms des idoles, si bien qu’il n’en sera plus fait mention; de même les prophètes et l’esprit d’impureté, je les ferai disparaître du pays.

3 וְהָיָ֗ה כִּי־יִנָּבֵ֣א אִישׁ֮ עוֹד֒ וְאָמְר֣וּ אֵ֠לָ֠יו אָבִ֨יו וְאִמּ֤וֹ יֹֽלְדָיו֙ לֹ֣א תִֽחְיֶ֔ה כִּ֛י שֶׁ֥קֶר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָ֑ה וּדְקָרֻ֜הוּ אָבִ֧יהוּ וְאִמּ֛וֹ יֹלְדָ֖יו בְּהִנָּֽבְאֽוֹ׃ Que si quelqu’un se met encore à prophétiser, son père et sa mère, auteurs de ses jours, lui diront: "Tu ne vivras pas, parce que tu as dit des mensonges au nom de l’Éternel!" Et père et mère, auteurs de ses jours, le transperceront quand il s’avisera de prophétiser.

4 וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יֵבֹ֧שׁוּ הַנְּבִיאִ֛ים אִ֥ישׁ מֵחֶזְיֹנ֖וֹ בְּהִנָּֽבְאֹת֑וֹ וְלֹ֧א יִלְבְּשׁ֛וּ אַדֶּ֥רֶת שֵׂעָ֖ר לְמַ֥עַן כַּחֵֽשׁ׃ Aussi, en ce jour, les prophètes auront-ils tous honte de leurs visions, lorsqu’ils voudront prophétiser; ils ne revêtiront plus le manteau de poil pour mieux tromper.

5 וְאָמַ֕ר לֹ֥א נָבִ֖יא אָנֹ֑כִי אִישׁ־עֹבֵ֤ד אֲדָמָה֙ אָנֹ֔כִי כִּ֥י אָדָ֖ם הִקְנַ֥נִי מִנְּעוּרָֽי׃ Chacun d’eux dira: "Je ne suis point prophète, je suis un homme qui travaille la terre, car dès ma jeunesse quelqu’un m’avait acquis."

6 וְאָמַ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו מָ֧ה הַמַּכּ֛וֹת הָאֵ֖לֶּה בֵּ֣ין יָדֶ֑יךָ וְאָמַ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֻכֵּ֖יתִי בֵּ֥ית מְאַהֲבָֽי׃ {פ}
Et si on lui demande: "Pourquoi ces plaies sur tes mains?" il répondra: "C’est que j’ai été maltraité dans la maison de ceux qui devaient m’aimer."

7 חֶ֗רֶב עוּרִ֤י עַל־רֹעִי֙ וְעַל־גֶּ֣בֶר עֲמִיתִ֔י נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת הַ֤ךְ אֶת־הָרֹעֶה֙ וּתְפוּצֶ֣יןָ הַצֹּ֔אן וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֥י יָדִ֖י עַל־הַצֹּעֲרִֽים׃ Epée, va te ruer contre mon pasteur, contre l’homme dont j’ai fait mon compagnon, dit l’Éternel-Cebaot; frappe le pasteur pour que les brebis se dispersent; mais je tournerai ma main vers les petits.

8 וְהָיָ֤ה בְכׇל־הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה פִּֽי־שְׁנַ֣יִם בָּ֔הּ יִכָּרְת֖וּ יִגְוָ֑עוּ וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֖ית יִוָּ֥תֶר בָּֽהּ׃ Et il arrivera que, dans tout le pays, dit l’Éternel, deux tiers seront retranchés et périront, et qu’un tiers seulement y restera en vie.

9 וְהֵבֵאתִ֤י אֶת־הַשְּׁלִשִׁית֙ בָּאֵ֔שׁ וּצְרַפְתִּים֙ כִּצְרֹ֣ף אֶת־הַכֶּ֔סֶף וּבְחַנְתִּ֖ים כִּבְחֹ֣ן אֶת־הַזָּהָ֑ב ה֣וּא ׀ יִקְרָ֣א בִשְׁמִ֗י וַֽאֲנִי֙ אֶעֱנֶ֣ה אֹת֔וֹ אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ עַמִּ֣י ה֔וּא וְה֥וּא יֹאמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי׃ {פ}
Et ce tiers, je le ferai passer au feu, et je l’affinerai comme on affine l’argent, je l’éprouverai comme on éprouve l’or. Il invoquera mon nom et moi, je l’exaucerai. Je dirai: "C’est là mon peuple!" Et lui dira: "L’Éternel est mon Dieu!"

Smite the shepherd The king of the border of wickedness.

and the flock shall scatter The flock subjected to his rule; lit. pressed down under his hand.

and I will return My hand And I will repeat My blows a second time.

upon the little ones Upon the rulers who are smaller than the kings. And Jonathan renders: and the flock shall scatter And the rulers shall scatter, and he renders: upon the little ones Their officers, who are second to them. And so did Jonathan render this verse as referring to the nations: O sword, reveal yourself against the king and against the ruler, his colleague who is like him, who resembles him, said the Lord of Hosts. Slay the king, and the rulers shall scatter. This wording of the Targum does not apply to Israel, for we do not find in the Targum or in the Scriptures [any words] but “a king and princes” [when referring to Israel], and the Aramaic translation thereof is רַבְרְבִין, great ones.

וטעם רועי – כל מלך מהגוים שהמשילו השם על הארץ והוא חושב על עצמו שהוא כאלהים, על כן ועל גבר עמיתי הך את הרועה, השם יכרית כל מלך ותפוצינה צאנו, על כן כתוב בפרשה האחרת הדבקה בזאת, והיה ה' למלך על כל הארץ. אמר יפת: כי הצוערים הפך הרועים והם צעירי הצאן והנה צוערים תואר, כמו אובדים יצערו בניו. ולא ידע.
