Ibn Ezra
English
I have already explained on Mount Sinai earlier in this parasha [comment on 26:46]. Whoever has a mind to understand the mysteries of the universe, will grasp the inner meaning of the first-born, and of the tithes [cf. comment on Exodus 20:14]. Abraham practiced tithe-giving [Genesis 14:20] as did our father Ya‘aqov, may he rest in peace [Genesis 28:22]. I shall reveal somewhat more of this mystery when I discuss the Second Tithe [comment on Deuteronomy 14:22], with the help of the One to Whom there is no second.
