1 שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת רַ֭בַּת צְרָר֣וּנִי מִנְּעוּרַ֑י יֹאמַר־נָ֝֗א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Cantique des degrés. "Violemment on m’a persécuté dès ma jeunesse peut bien dire Israël

2 רַ֭בַּת צְרָר֣וּנִי מִנְּעוּרָ֑י גַּ֝֗ם לֹא־יָ֥כְלוּ לִֽי׃ violemment on m’a persécuté dès ma jeunesse, mais on n’a pu triompher de moi.

3 עַל־גַּ֭בִּי חָרְשׁ֣וּ חֹרְשִׁ֑ים הֶ֝אֱרִ֗יכוּ (למענותם) [לְמַעֲנִיתָֽם]׃ Des laboureurs ont labouré mon dos, y ont tracé de longs sillons."

4 יְהֹוָ֥ה צַדִּ֑יק קִ֝צֵּ֗ץ עֲב֣וֹת רְשָׁעִֽים׃ L’Éternel est juste, il brise les entraves des méchants.

5 יֵ֭בֹשׁוּ וְיִסֹּ֣גוּ אָח֑וֹר כֹּ֝֗ל שֹׂנְאֵ֥י צִיּֽוֹן׃ Qu’ils rougissent et reculent, tous ceux qui haïssent Sion!

6 יִ֭הְיוּ כַּחֲצִ֣יר גַּגּ֑וֹת שֶׁקַּדְמַ֖ת שָׁלַ֣ף יָבֵֽשׁ׃ Qu’ils soient comme l’herbe des toits, qui se dessèche avant qu’on l’enlève,

7 שֶׁלֹּ֤א מִלֵּ֖א כַפּ֥וֹ קוֹצֵ֗ר וְחִצְנ֥וֹ מְעַמֵּֽר׃ dont le moissonneur n’emplit pas sa main, ni le faiseur de gerbes son giron!

8 וְלֹ֤א אָמְר֨וּ ׀ הָעֹבְרִ֗ים בִּרְכַּֽת־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם בֵּרַ֥כְנוּ אֶ֝תְכֶ֗ם בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
De sorte que les passants ne disent point: "La bénédiction de Dieu soit sur vous! Nous vous bénissons au nom de l’Éternel."

על - אע"פ שעל גבי חרשו חורשים. והטעם: הבזיון והשפלות, על דרך: ותשימי כארץ גוך.

למעניתם - מגזרת כבחצי מענה.

טעם קצץ - כאשר יקצץ העבות לא יוכלו לחרוש על גבי. והטעם כי השם יסיר סבלם מעל שכם ישראל, בהכרת מלכותם.

למעניתם. הוא הקו שיחרוש החורש בשוורים בשדה כשיעור שירצה בו ואחר כך יחזור ויעשה אחר כמוהו, וכן עד שיחרוש כל השדה וכל מה שיהיה ארוך המענית תהיה יגיע השוורים רבה כי לא ינוחו עד ראש הקו ובאמרו האריכו למעניתם, רוצה לומר שלא נתנו אותנו לנוח מעבודתם ומסבלותם:
