Psaumes 7:15

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

7

Sans cela, on déchirerait, tel un lion, ma personne, on me mettrait en pièces, et nul ne me sauverait.
4 יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהַי אִם־עָשִׂ֣יתִי זֹ֑את אִֽם־יֶשׁ־עָ֥וֶל בְּכַפָּֽי׃ Éternel, mon Dieu, si j’ai agi de la sorte, s’il y a de l’iniquité en mes mains:
5 אִם־גָּ֭מַלְתִּי שֽׁוֹלְמִ֥י רָ֑ע וָאֲחַלְּצָ֖ה צֽוֹרְרִ֣י רֵיקָֽם׃ si j’ai rendu la pareille à qui m’a fait du mal, et dépouillé qui m’a pris en haine sans motif,
Sélah!
15 הִנֵּ֥ה יְחַבֶּל־אָ֑וֶן וְהָרָ֥ה עָ֝מָ֗ל וְיָ֣לַד שָֽׁקֶר׃ Voyez, [le méchant] ourdit l’iniquité, il conçoit le mal et enfante le mensonge;
16 בּ֣וֹר כָּ֭רָה וַֽיַּחְפְּרֵ֑הוּ וַ֝יִּפֹּ֗ל בְּשַׁ֣חַת יִפְעָֽל׃ il a creusé une fosse et l’a rendue profonde, mais il glisse dans le précipice qu’il a préparé.
18 אוֹדֶ֣ה יְהֹוָ֣ה כְּצִדְק֑וֹ וַ֝אֲזַמְּרָ֗ה שֵֽׁם־יְהֹוָ֥ה עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ {פ}

Rashi

English

Behold, he travails Heb. יחבל an expression of conception and birth, as (in Song 8:5): “there your mother was in travail with you (חבלתך).”

he conceives mischief, and gives birth to lies Whatever he begets and toils, everything betrays him. The adage says: Whatever lies beget, diminution takes.

Ibn Ezra

Radak (David Kimhi)

English

Behold, he travaileth with iniquity; Yea, he hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. – He compares the thoughts of the heart with conception, and says their issuing in speech or conduct is like the pangs of a woman at childbirth. If so, the comparison is between speech and birth-pains, and (between) conduct and childbearing. And he says that he speaks evil, because he has conceived it in his heart and brought it forth in his mouth for execution. And iniquity and mischief and. falsehood have all one meaning, though the words are different.
