Psaumes 74:8

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

74

5 יִ֭וָּדַע כְּמֵבִ֣יא לְמָ֑עְלָה בִּסְבׇךְ־עֵ֝֗ץ קַרְדֻּמּֽוֹת׃ Ils y ont paru comme des gens qui brandissent la hache en plein fourré;
Jusqu’à quand, ô Dieu, l’adversaire blasphémera-t-il, l’ennemi insultera-t-il sans relâche à ton nom?
13 אַתָּ֤ה פוֹרַ֣רְתָּ בְעׇזְּךָ֣ יָ֑ם שִׁבַּ֥רְתָּ רָאשֵׁ֥י תַ֝נִּינִ֗ים עַל־הַמָּֽיִם׃ C’est toi qui, par ta force, as fendu la mer, brisé la tête des monstres marins à la surface des eaux;
14 אַתָּ֣ה רִ֭צַּצְתָּ רָאשֵׁ֣י לִוְיָתָ֑ן תִּתְּנֶ֥נּוּ מַ֝אֲכָ֗ל לְעָ֣ם לְצִיִּֽים׃ c’est toi qui as fracassé la tête du Léviathan, pour le donner comme pâture aux fauves du désert;
15 אַתָּ֣ה בָ֭קַעְתָּ מַעְיָ֣ן וָנָ֑חַל אַתָּ֥ה ה֝וֹבַ֗שְׁתָּ נַהֲר֥וֹת אֵיתָֽן׃ c’est toi qui as fait jaillir sources et torrents, mis à sec des fleuves puissants;
16 לְךָ֣ י֭וֹם אַף־לְךָ֥ לָ֑יְלָה אַתָּ֥ה הֲ֝כִינ֗וֹתָ מָא֥וֹר וָשָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ à toi appartient le jour, à toi aussi la nuit, c’est toi qui as créé l’astre lumineux, le soleil.
N’aie garde de l’oublier: l’ennemi blasphème, ô Éternel, un peuple méprisable insulte à ton nom.
23 אַל־תִּ֭שְׁכַּח ק֣וֹל צֹרְרֶ֑יךָ שְׁא֥וֹן קָ֝מֶ֗יךָ עֹלֶ֥ה תָמִֽיד׃ {פ}

They said [i.e., devised] in their hearts, [all of] their rulers together, [to eliminate their Deity first, and then to eliminate the Jews. Know this to be so, for] they burned all the meeting places of G d in the land: [the Philistines, Shiloh; Nevuchadnezzar, the first Temple; Titus, the second Temple].

Rashi

English

They said in their heart, their rulers together Heb. נינם, their rulers, and similarly (above 72: 17): “his name will be magnified (ינון) ; (Prov. 29:21), “he will ultimately be a ruler (מנון).” All their rulers devise one plot, the first as the last: namely, to get at the protector of Israel first and afterwards they would get at them [Israel], You should know this by the fact that they burned all the meeting places of God in the land, all His meeting houses. The Philistines destroyed Shiloh; Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the First Temple; Titus destroyed the Second Temple.
