1 דִּבְרֵ֣י עָמ֔וֹס אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה בַנֹּקְדִ֖ים מִתְּק֑וֹעַ אֲשֶׁר֩ חָזָ֨ה עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל בִּימֵ֣י ׀ עֻזִּיָּ֣ה מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֗ה וּבִימֵ֞י יָרׇבְעָ֤ם בֶּן־יוֹאָשׁ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שְׁנָתַ֖יִם לִפְנֵ֥י הָרָֽעַשׁ׃ Paroles d’Amos, un des éleveurs de troupeaux à Tekoa, qui prophétisa sur Israël durant le règne d’Ouzia, roi de Juda, et de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël, deux ans avant le tremblement de terre.

2 וַיֹּאמַ֓ר ׀ יְהֹוָה֙ מִצִּיּ֣וֹן יִשְׁאָ֔ג וּמִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם יִתֵּ֣ן קוֹל֑וֹ וְאָֽבְלוּ֙ נְא֣וֹת הָרֹעִ֔ים וְיָבֵ֖שׁ רֹ֥אשׁ הַכַּרְמֶֽל׃ {פ}
Il dit: "L’Éternel rugit de Sion, de Jérusalem il fait entendre sa voix: les pacages des bergers en sont assombris, le sommet du Carmel en est desséché."

3 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י דַמֶּ֔שֶׂק וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־דּוּשָׁ֛ם בַּחֲרֻצ֥וֹת הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל אֶת־הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ Ainsi parle l’Éternel: "A cause du triple, du quadruple crime de Damas, je ne le révoquerai pas, [mon arrêt]: parce qu’ils ont foulé le pays de Galaad avec des herses de fer.

4 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּבֵ֣ית חֲזָאֵ֑ל וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת בֶּן־הֲדָֽד׃ Aussi déchaînerai-je le feu contre la maison de Hazaël, pour qu’il dévore les palais de Ben-Hadad.

5 וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ בְּרִ֣יחַ דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י יוֹשֵׁב֙ מִבִּקְעַת־אָ֔וֶן וְתוֹמֵ֥ךְ שֵׁ֖בֶט מִבֵּ֣ית עֶ֑דֶן וְגָל֧וּ עַם־אֲרָ֛ם קִ֖ירָה אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
Je briserai les verrous de Damas, j’exterminerai les habitants du Val de Perversité et le porte-sceptre de la maison de Délices. Le peuple d’Aram ira en exil à Kir, dit l’Éternel."

6 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י עַזָּ֔ה וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־הַגְלוֹתָ֛ם גָּל֥וּת שְׁלֵמָ֖ה לְהַסְגִּ֥יר לֶאֱדֽוֹם׃ Ainsi parle l’Éternel: "A cause du triple, du quadruple crime de Gaza, je ne le révoquerai pas, [mon arrêt]: parce qu’ils ont déporté des exilés en masse pour les livrer à Edom.

7 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּחוֹמַ֣ת עַזָּ֑ה וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ Aussi déchaînerai-je le feu contre les murs de Gaza, pour qu’il en dévore les palais.

8 וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י יוֹשֵׁב֙ מֵֽאַשְׁדּ֔וֹד וְתוֹמֵ֥ךְ שֵׁ֖בֶט מֵֽאַשְׁקְל֑וֹן וַהֲשִׁיב֨וֹתִי יָדִ֜י עַל־עֶקְר֗וֹן וְאָֽבְדוּ֙ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃ {פ}
J’exterminerai les habitants d’Asdod et le porte-sceptre d’Ascalon; je dirigerai ma main contre Ekron, pour que périsse le reste des Philistins, dit le Seigneur Dieu."

9 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵי־צֹ֔ר וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַֽל־הַסְגִּירָ֞ם גָּל֤וּת שְׁלֵמָה֙ לֶאֱד֔וֹם וְלֹ֥א זָכְר֖וּ בְּרִ֥ית אַחִֽים׃ Ainsi parle l’Éternel: "A cause du triple, du quadruple crime de Tyr, je ne le révoquerai pas, [mon arrêt]: parce qu’ils ont livré des captifs en masse à Edom, sans se souvenir de la fraternelle alliance.

10 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּח֣וֹמַת צֹ֑ר וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ {פ}
Aussi déchaînerai-je le feu contre les murs de Tyr, pour qu’il en dévore les palais."

11 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י אֱד֔וֹם וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־רׇדְפ֨וֹ בַחֶ֤רֶב אָחִיו֙ וְשִׁחֵ֣ת רַחֲמָ֔יו וַיִּטְרֹ֤ף לָעַד֙ אַפּ֔וֹ וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ שְׁמָ֥רָהֿ נֶֽצַח׃ Ainsi parle l’Éternel: "A cause du triple, du quadruple crime d’Edom, je ne le révoquerai pas, [mon arrêt]: parce qu’il a poursuivi son frère avec l’épée, étouffant toute pitié; parce que sa colère ne cesse de faire des victimes, et qu’il se complaît dans une haine sans fin.

12 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּתֵימָ֑ן וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת בׇּצְרָֽה׃ {פ}
Aussi déchaînerai-je le feu contre Têmân, pour qu’il dévore les palais de Boçra."

13 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־עַמּ֔וֹן וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־בִּקְעָם֙ הָר֣וֹת הַגִּלְעָ֔ד לְמַ֖עַן הַרְחִ֥יב אֶת־גְּבוּלָֽם׃ Ainsi parle l’Éternel: "A cause du triple, du quadruple crime des fils d’Ammon, je ne le révoquerai pas, [mon arrêt]: parce qu’ils ont éventré les femmes enceintes de Galaad, en vue d’étendre leur territoire.

14 וְהִצַּ֤תִּי אֵשׁ֙ בְּחוֹמַ֣ת רַבָּ֔ה וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנוֹתֶ֑יהָ בִּתְרוּעָה֙ בְּי֣וֹם מִלְחָמָ֔ה בְּסַ֖עַר בְּי֥וֹם סוּפָֽה׃ Aussi mettrai-je le feu aux murs de Rabba, pour qu’il en dévore les palais, au milieu des cris de guerre, au jour du combat, au milieu de la tempête, au jour de l’ouragan.

15 וְהָלַ֥ךְ מַלְכָּ֖ם בַּגּוֹלָ֑ה ה֧וּא וְשָׂרָ֛יו יַחְדָּ֖ו אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
Malcom ira en exil, lui et ses dignitaires, tous ensemble, dit l’Éternel."

they ripped up the pregnant woman of Gilead—They destroyed it and also ripped up their pregnant women so that no heir would remain who would contest the inheritance. And so does Scripture state: (Jer. 49:1) “Concerning the children of Ammon. So said the Lord: Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why has Malcam taken possession of Gad?”

הרות - כמו הרים כמו שנות שנים, אולי משתנה מלת הרות בעבור אות הגרון. ואחרים אמרו: שמלת הרות, כמשמעה שלא תלדנה בנים ולא יפחדו להרחיב גבולם.

וטעם בתרועה – כי תתפש רבה בכח.

וטעם בסער – ברוח סערה, בעבור שהזכיר והצתי אש.

And here the decree that Hashem put on the Amonites is mentioned including the three sins of idolatry, immorality and murder that the Amonites did and the fourth sin that was regarding Israel. For all these, Gd will not overlook and will truthfully repay them according their deeds. And the fourth sin was ripping open the "haros" of Gilead in order to expand their boundary. And the word "haros" comes from the word "harim" mountains and it's the feminine form of the word. And this means that since they were neighbors with Gilead, they would break open the mountains that they were neighbors to to expand their borders and since we know "cursed is the one who encroaches on his fellow man's borders" and Jeremiah (49:1) said "to the sons of Amon thus said Hashem, 'has Israel no sons to inherit taht you inherited their land of Gad and dwelled in their cities" . Jeremiah mentions Gad because it is capitol of Gilead nad has access to crossing the Jordan. And rashi provides another explanation for the word "haros" and says it refers to pregnant women. The Amonites were so unmerciful in their quest to destroy every remnant of Israel that is why the prophet says "has Israel no children to inherit"

And their sins is given here that the fire will come in their palace in their largest city "Rabat". And consume their palaces on the day of war that they are fighting agains tthe enemy. ANd it says it will come suddently and quickly like a storm on clear day like Shlomo Hamelech said "when terror descends upon you destructively and calamity like a whirlwind" (Mishlei 1:27).

And the prophet says that not only will the land be defeated but also it's kings and officers will jointly go into exile because their fate was sealed due to their theft and wanton cruelty
