1 הַֽלְלוּ־יָ֡הּ הַֽלְלִ֥י נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃ Alléluia! Mon âme, célèbre le Seigneur.

2 אֲהַלְלָ֣ה יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּחַיָּ֑י אֲזַמְּרָ֖ה לֵאלֹהַ֣י בְּעוֹדִֽי׃ Je veux célébrer l’Éternel ma vie durant, chanter mon Dieu tant que j’existerai.

3 אַל־תִּבְטְח֥וּ בִנְדִיבִ֑ים בְּבֶן־אָדָ֓ם ׀ שֶׁ֤אֵ֖ין ל֥וֹ תְשׁוּעָֽה׃ Ne placez pas votre confiance dans les grands, dans le fils d’Adam, impuissant à secourir.

4 תֵּצֵ֣א ר֭וּחוֹ יָשֻׁ֣ב לְאַדְמָת֑וֹ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַ֝ה֗וּא אָבְד֥וּ עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָֽיו׃ Que son souffle se retire de lui, il rentre dans sa poussière: le jour même ses projets sont anéantis.

5 אַשְׁרֵ֗י שֶׁ֤אֵ֣ל יַעֲקֹ֣ב בְּעֶזְר֑וֹ שִׂ֝בְר֗וֹ עַל־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ Heureux qui a pour appui le Dieu de Jacob, et met son espoir en l’Éternel, son Dieu!

6 עֹשֶׂ֤ה ׀ שָׁ֘מַ֤יִם וָאָ֗רֶץ אֶת־הַיָּ֥ם וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֑ם הַשֹּׁמֵ֖ר אֱמֶ֣ת לְעוֹלָֽם׃ Il a fait le ciel, la terre, la mer et tout ce qu’ils contiennent; il est éternellement fidèle [à sa parole],

7 עֹשֶׂ֤ה מִשְׁפָּ֨ט ׀ לָעֲשׁוּקִ֗ים נֹתֵ֣ן לֶ֭חֶם לָרְעֵבִ֑ים יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה מַתִּ֥יר אֲסוּרִֽים׃ fait valoir le droit des opprimés, donne du pain à ceux qui ont faim; l’Éternel met en liberté les prisonniers.

8 יְהֹוָ֤ה ׀ פֹּ֘קֵ֤חַ עִוְרִ֗ים יְ֭הֹוָה זֹקֵ֣ף כְּפוּפִ֑ים יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה אֹהֵ֥ב צַדִּיקִֽים׃ L’Éternel rend la vue aux aveugles, l’Éternel redresse ceux qui sont courbés. L’Éternel aime les justes;

9 יְהֹוָ֤ה ׀ שֹׁ֘מֵ֤ר אֶת־גֵּרִ֗ים יָת֣וֹם וְאַלְמָנָ֣ה יְעוֹדֵ֑ד וְדֶ֖רֶךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים יְעַוֵּֽת׃ l’Éternel veille sur les étrangers, soutient l’orphelin et la veuve, tandis qu’il bouleverse la vie des pervers.

10 יִמְלֹ֤ךְ יְהֹוָ֨ה ׀ לְעוֹלָ֗ם אֱלֹהַ֣יִךְ צִ֭יּוֹן לְדֹ֥ר וָדֹ֗ר הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ {פ}
Le Seigneur régnera à jamais, ton Dieu, ô Sion, d’âge en âge. Alléluia!

"May he reign" - If God is so, he is fitting to be king and only for Him is the indulgence of kingship, and the poet concludes as he began [with הללויה].

ימלוך. "(He) Reigns": And when will this be? When the Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, from generation to generation, as it is said, "And the Lord shall be king over all the earth," (Zechariah 14:9) meaning the entire world will recognize His kingship. Zion is mentioned because from there, instruction will go forth to the whole world, and they will acknowledge Him as king over everything after He executes judgment on the wicked, as in the Valley of Jehoshaphat. Or when the Lord reigns, all the people of the world will praise the Lord (Haleluya) and recognize His kingship, and then your song will be good and pleasant, and your praise will be perfect.
