Psaumes 73:17

Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

73

Psaume d’Assaph. Ah!
Le Dieu suprême possède-t-il la science?"
17 עַד־אָ֭בוֹא אֶל־מִקְדְּשֵׁי־אֵ֑ל אָ֝בִ֗ינָה לְאַחֲרִיתָֽם׃ jusqu’à ce que, pénétrant dans le sanctuaire de Dieu, je me fusse rendu compte de leur fin.
23 וַאֲנִ֣י תָמִ֣יד עִמָּ֑ךְ אָ֝חַ֗זְתָּ בְּיַד־יְמִינִֽי׃ Mais désormais je resterai toujours avec toi: tu as saisi ma main droite;
24 בַּעֲצָתְךָ֥ תַנְחֵ֑נִי וְ֝אַחַ֗ר כָּב֥וֹד תִּקָּחֵֽנִי׃ tu me guideras par ton conseil, et finalement tu me recueilleras avec honneur.
28 וַאֲנִ֤י ׀ קִ֥רְבַ֥ת אֱלֹהִ֗ים לִ֫י־ט֥וֹב שַׁתִּ֤י ׀ בַּאדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֣ה מַחְסִ֑י לְ֝סַפֵּ֗ר כׇּל־מַלְאֲכוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ {פ}

Rashi

English

Until I came to the sanctuaries of God, which are in Jerusalem, and saw what happened to Sennacherib. Then I understood the end of the wicked, that it is to destruction. Then I said, “All the good that comes to them is only slippery places; for the Holy One, blessed be He, makes their way slippery, that it should be easy and smooth, so that they should not put their heart to return to Him, and they should perish.”

Ibn Ezra

Radak (David Kimhi)

English

Until. I have pondered in my heart to understand this with great toil, and I have not found until I delved into the thoughts of my heart, to the sanctuary of God. And that is the world of angels and spirits, for there lies the ultimate reward, for the goodness of this worldly existence does not endure. But in the end, it is the world of souls where the righteous are examined, as our Father Avinu (Abraham) said about their ultimate state.
