For I know after my death, that you will become depraved and you will veer from the way that I commanded you; and harm will happen to you at the end of time, when you do what is wicked in Adonoy’s eyes to spite Him with your actions.

For I know that after my death [i.e., after the death of Joshua, whom Moses considered like himself] you will corrupt yourselves and you will turn from the way that I commanded unto you, and the evil will befall you in the end of days, for you will do the evil in the eyes of the L-rd to anger Him with the deeds of your hands.

Wiem bowiem, że po śmierci mojej znarowicie się i zstąpicie z drogi, którą wam poleciłem, a spotka was niedola w późniejszych czasach za to, że czynić będziecie zło w oczach Wiekuistego, rozdrażniając Go sprawami rąk waszych!"

The word befall, ending in a tav, is the third person feminine singular of a lamed-’alef verb, as in “it is your nation who has sinned” [Exodus 5: 16], as I have there explained [comment on Exodus 5: 16].

כי ידעתי, in the course of that song (poem) I will reveal that I know how you will act so that the evil, if and when it befalls you, will not be perceived as “bad luck,” as coincidence, but can be traced back to my warnings. Once you realise and admit hat you had become guilty of a corrupt way of life, you will repent and turn to G’d in sincere remorse. Compare Isaiah 48,5 ואגיד לך מאז, בטרם תבוא השמעתיך, פן תאמר עצבי אשם, “Therefore I told you long beforehand, announced things to you before they happened, that you might not say: “my idol caused them.”
