1 וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ L’éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:

2 דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְיִקְחוּ־לִ֖י תְּרוּמָ֑ה מֵאֵ֤ת כׇּל־אִישׁ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִדְּבֶ֣נּוּ לִבּ֔וֹ תִּקְח֖וּ אֶת־תְּרוּמָתִֽי׃ "Invite les enfants d’Israël à me préparer une offrande de la part de quiconque y sera porté par son cœur, vous recevrez mon offrande.

3 וְזֹאת֙ הַתְּרוּמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּקְח֖וּ מֵאִתָּ֑ם זָהָ֥ב וָכֶ֖סֶף וּנְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ Et voici l’offrande que vous recevrez d’eux: or, argent et cuivre;

4 וּתְכֵ֧לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן וְתוֹלַ֥עַת שָׁנִ֖י וְשֵׁ֥שׁ וְעִזִּֽים׃ étoffes d’azur, de pourpre, d’écarlate, de fin lin et de poil de chèvre;

5 וְעֹרֹ֨ת אֵילִ֧ם מְאׇדָּמִ֛ים וְעֹרֹ֥ת תְּחָשִׁ֖ים וַעֲצֵ֥י שִׁטִּֽים׃ peaux de bélier teintes en rouge, peaux de tahach et bois de chittîm;

6 שֶׁ֖מֶן לַמָּאֹ֑ר בְּשָׂמִים֙ לְשֶׁ֣מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָ֔ה וְלִקְטֹ֖רֶת הַסַּמִּֽים׃ huile pour le luminaire, aromates pour l’huile d’onction et pour la combustion des parfums;

7 אַבְנֵי־שֹׁ֕הַם וְאַבְנֵ֖י מִלֻּאִ֑ים לָאֵפֹ֖ד וְלַחֹֽשֶׁן׃ pierres de choham et pierres à enchâsser, pour l’éphod et pour le pectoral.

8 וְעָ֥שׂוּ לִ֖י מִקְדָּ֑שׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖י בְּתוֹכָֽם׃ Et ils me construiront un sanctuaire, pour que je réside au milieu d’eux,

9 כְּכֹ֗ל אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֲנִי֙ מַרְאֶ֣ה אוֹתְךָ֔ אֵ֚ת תַּבְנִ֣ית הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן וְאֵ֖ת תַּבְנִ֣ית כׇּל־כֵּלָ֑יו וְכֵ֖ן תַּעֲשֽׂוּ׃ {ס} semblable en tout à ce que je t’indiquerai, c’est-à-dire au plan du tabernacle et de toutes ses pièces et vous l’exécuterez ainsi.

10 וְעָשׂ֥וּ אֲר֖וֹן עֲצֵ֣י שִׁטִּ֑ים אַמָּתַ֨יִם וָחֵ֜צִי אׇרְכּ֗וֹ וְאַמָּ֤ה וָחֵ֙צִי֙ רׇחְבּ֔וֹ וְאַמָּ֥ה וָחֵ֖צִי קֹמָתֽוֹ׃ "On fera une arche en bois de chittîm, ayant deux coudées et demie de long, une coudée et demie de large, une coudée et demie de hauteur.

11 וְצִפִּיתָ֤ אֹתוֹ֙ זָהָ֣ב טָה֔וֹר מִבַּ֥יִת וּמִח֖וּץ תְּצַפֶּ֑נּוּ וְעָשִׂ֧יתָ עָלָ֛יו זֵ֥ר זָהָ֖ב סָבִֽיב׃ Tu la revêtiras d’or pur, intérieurement et extérieurement; et tu l’entoureras d’une corniche d’or."

12 וְיָצַ֣קְתָּ לּ֗וֹ אַרְבַּע֙ טַבְּעֹ֣ת זָהָ֔ב וְנָ֣תַתָּ֔ה עַ֖ל אַרְבַּ֣ע פַּעֲמֹתָ֑יו וּשְׁתֵּ֣י טַבָּעֹ֗ת עַל־צַלְעוֹ֙ הָֽאֶחָ֔ת וּשְׁתֵּי֙ טַבָּעֹ֔ת עַל־צַלְע֖וֹ הַשֵּׁנִֽית׃ Tu mouleras pour l’arche quatre anneaux d’or, que tu placeras à ses quatre angles; savoir, deux anneaux à l’un de ses côtés et deux anneaux au côté opposé.

13 וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ בַדֵּ֖י עֲצֵ֣י שִׁטִּ֑ים וְצִפִּיתָ֥ אֹתָ֖ם זָהָֽב׃ Tu feras des barres de bois de chittîm, que tu recouvriras d’or.

14 וְהֵבֵאתָ֤ אֶת־הַבַּדִּים֙ בַּטַּבָּעֹ֔ת עַ֖ל צַלְעֹ֣ת הָאָרֹ֑ן לָשֵׂ֥את אֶת־הָאָרֹ֖ן בָּהֶֽם׃ Tu passeras ces barres dans les anneaux, le long des côtés de l’arche, pour qu’elles servent à la porter.

15 בְּטַבְּעֹת֙ הָאָרֹ֔ן יִהְי֖וּ הַבַּדִּ֑ים לֹ֥א יָסֻ֖רוּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ Les barres, engagées dans les anneaux de l’arche, ne doivent point la quitter.

16 וְנָתַתָּ֖ אֶל־הָאָרֹ֑ן אֵ֚ת הָעֵדֻ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶתֵּ֖ן אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ Tu déposeras dans l’arche le Statut que je te donnerai.

Aliya 2

17 וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ כַפֹּ֖רֶת זָהָ֣ב טָה֑וֹר אַמָּתַ֤יִם וָחֵ֙צִי֙ אׇרְכָּ֔הּ וְאַמָּ֥ה וָחֵ֖צִי רׇחְבָּֽהּ׃ Tu feras aussi un propitiatoire d’or pur, ayant deux coudées et demie de long, une coudée et demie de large.

18 וְעָשִׂ֛יתָ שְׁנַ֥יִם כְּרֻבִ֖ים זָהָ֑ב מִקְשָׁה֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֹתָ֔ם מִשְּׁנֵ֖י קְצ֥וֹת הַכַּפֹּֽרֶת׃ Puis tu feras deux chérubins d’or, tu les fabriqueras tout d’une pièce, ressortant des deux extrémités du propitiatoire.

19 וַ֠עֲשֵׂ֠ה כְּר֨וּב אֶחָ֤ד מִקָּצָה֙ מִזֶּ֔ה וּכְרוּב־אֶחָ֥ד מִקָּצָ֖ה מִזֶּ֑ה מִן־הַכַּפֹּ֛רֶת תַּעֲשׂ֥וּ אֶת־הַכְּרֻבִ֖ים עַל־שְׁנֵ֥י קְצוֹתָֽיו׃ Fais ressortir un chérubin d’un côté et l’autre du côté opposé, c’est du propitiatoire même que vous ferez saillir ces chérubins, à ses deux extrémités.

20 וְהָי֣וּ הַכְּרֻבִים֩ פֹּרְשֵׂ֨י כְנָפַ֜יִם לְמַ֗עְלָה סֹכְכִ֤ים בְּכַנְפֵיהֶם֙ עַל־הַכַּפֹּ֔רֶת וּפְנֵיהֶ֖ם אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־אָחִ֑יו אֶ֨ל־הַכַּפֹּ֔רֶת יִהְי֖וּ פְּנֵ֥י הַכְּרֻבִֽים׃ Ces chérubins auront les ailes étendues en avant et dominant le propitiatoire et leurs visages, tournés l’un vers l’autre, seront dirigés vers le propitiatoire.

21 וְנָתַתָּ֧ אֶת־הַכַּפֹּ֛רֶת עַל־הָאָרֹ֖ן מִלְמָ֑עְלָה וְאֶל־הָ֣אָרֹ֔ן תִּתֵּן֙ אֶת־הָ֣עֵדֻ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶתֵּ֖ן אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ Tu placeras ce propitiatoire au-dessus de l’arche, après avoir déposé dans l’arche le Statut que je te donnerai.

22 וְנוֹעַדְתִּ֣י לְךָ֮ שָׁם֒ וְדִבַּרְתִּ֨י אִתְּךָ֜ מֵעַ֣ל הַכַּפֹּ֗רֶת מִבֵּין֙ שְׁנֵ֣י הַכְּרֻבִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־אֲר֣וֹן הָעֵדֻ֑ת אֵ֣ת כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֧ר אֲצַוֶּ֛ה אוֹתְךָ֖ אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {פ}
C’est là que je te donnerai rendez-vous; c’est de dessus le propitiatoire, entre les deux chérubins placés sur l’arche du Statut, que je te communiquerai tous mes ordres pour les enfants d’Israël.

23 וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ שֻׁלְחָ֖ן עֲצֵ֣י שִׁטִּ֑ים אַמָּתַ֤יִם אׇרְכּוֹ֙ וְאַמָּ֣ה רׇחְבּ֔וֹ וְאַמָּ֥ה וָחֵ֖צִי קֹמָתֽוֹ׃ "Tu feras ensuite une table de bois de chittîm, longue de deux coudées, haute d’une coudée et demie.

24 וְצִפִּיתָ֥ אֹת֖וֹ זָהָ֣ב טָה֑וֹר וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ לּ֛וֹ זֵ֥ר זָהָ֖ב סָבִֽיב׃ Tu la recouvriras d’or pur et tu l’entoureras d’une bordure d’or.

25 וְעָשִׂ֨יתָ לּ֥וֹ מִסְגֶּ֛רֶת טֹ֖פַח סָבִ֑יב וְעָשִׂ֧יתָ זֵר־זָהָ֛ב לְמִסְגַּרְתּ֖וֹ סָבִֽיב׃ Tu y adapteras, tout autour, un châssis large d’un palme et tu entoureras ce châssis d’une bordure d’or.

26 וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ לּ֔וֹ אַרְבַּ֖ע טַבְּעֹ֣ת זָהָ֑ב וְנָתַתָּ֙ אֶת־הַטַּבָּעֹ֔ת עַ֚ל אַרְבַּ֣ע הַפֵּאֹ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֖ר לְאַרְבַּ֥ע רַגְלָֽיו׃ Tu feras pour la table quatre anneaux d’or, que tu fixeras aux quatre extrémités formées par ses quatre pieds.

27 לְעֻמַּת֙ הַמִּסְגֶּ֔רֶת תִּהְיֶ֖יןָ הַטַּבָּעֹ֑ת לְבָתִּ֣ים לְבַדִּ֔ים לָשֵׂ֖את אֶת־הַשֻּׁלְחָֽן׃ C’est vis-à-vis que se trouveront les anneaux; ils donneront passage à des barres servant à porter la table.

28 וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ אֶת־הַבַּדִּים֙ עֲצֵ֣י שִׁטִּ֔ים וְצִפִּיתָ֥ אֹתָ֖ם זָהָ֑ב וְנִשָּׂא־בָ֖ם אֶת־הַשֻּׁלְחָֽן׃ Tu feras ces barres en bois de chittîm et tu les recouvriras d’or; c’est par leur moyen que sera portée la table.

29 וְעָשִׂ֨יתָ קְּעָרֹתָ֜יו וְכַפֹּתָ֗יו וּקְשׂוֹתָיו֙ וּמְנַקִּיֹּתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֻסַּ֖ךְ בָּהֵ֑ן זָהָ֥ב טָה֖וֹר תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתָֽם׃ Tu feras ses sébiles et ses cuillers, ses montants et ses demi-tubes, pièces dont elle doit être garnie; c’est en or pur que tu les confectionneras.

30 וְנָתַתָּ֧ עַֽל־הַשֻּׁלְחָ֛ן לֶ֥חֶם פָּנִ֖ים לְפָנַ֥י תָּמִֽיד׃ {פ}
Et tu placeras sur cette table des pains de proposition, en permanence devant moi.

Aliya 3

31 וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ מְנֹרַ֖ת זָהָ֣ב טָה֑וֹר מִקְשָׁ֞ה תֵּעָשֶׂ֤ה^*(בספרי ספרד ואשכנז תֵּיעָשֶׂ֤ה) הַמְּנוֹרָה֙ יְרֵכָ֣הּ וְקָנָ֔הּ גְּבִיעֶ֛יהָ כַּפְתֹּרֶ֥יהָ וּפְרָחֶ֖יהָ מִמֶּ֥נָּה יִהְיֽוּ׃ "Tu, feras aussi un candélabre d’or pur. Ce candélabre, c’est-à-dire son pied et sa tige, sera fait tout d’une pièce; ses calices, ses boutons et ses fleurs feront corps avec lui.

32 וְשִׁשָּׁ֣ה קָנִ֔ים יֹצְאִ֖ים מִצִּדֶּ֑יהָ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה ׀ קְנֵ֣י מְנֹרָ֗ה מִצִּדָּהּ֙ הָאֶחָ֔ד וּשְׁלֹשָׁה֙ קְנֵ֣י מְנֹרָ֔ה מִצִּדָּ֖הּ הַשֵּׁנִֽי׃ Six branches sortiront de ses côtés: trois branches du candélabre d’un côté et trois branches du candélabre de l’autre.

33 שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה גְ֠בִעִ֠ים מְֽשֻׁקָּדִ֞ים בַּקָּנֶ֣ה הָאֶחָד֮ כַּפְתֹּ֣ר וָפֶ֒רַח֒ וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה גְבִעִ֗ים מְשֻׁקָּדִ֛ים בַּקָּנֶ֥ה הָאֶחָ֖ד כַּפְתֹּ֣ר וָפָ֑רַח כֵּ֚ן לְשֵׁ֣שֶׁת הַקָּנִ֔ים הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים מִן־הַמְּנֹרָֽה׃ Trois calices amygdaloïdes à l’une des branches, avec bouton et fleur et trois calices amygdaloïdës, avec bouton et fleur à l’autre branche; ainsi pour les six branches qui sailliront du candélabre.

34 וּבַמְּנֹרָ֖ה אַרְבָּעָ֣ה גְבִעִ֑ים מְשֻׁ֨קָּדִ֔ים כַּפְתֹּרֶ֖יהָ וּפְרָחֶֽיהָ׃ Le fût du candélabre portera quatre calices amygdaloïdes, avec ses boutons et ses fleurs;

35 וְכַפְתֹּ֡ר תַּ֩חַת֩ שְׁנֵ֨י הַקָּנִ֜ים מִמֶּ֗נָּה וְכַפְתֹּר֙ תַּ֣חַת שְׁנֵ֤י הַקָּנִים֙ מִמֶּ֔נָּה וְכַפְתֹּ֕ר תַּחַת־שְׁנֵ֥י הַקָּנִ֖ים מִמֶּ֑נָּה לְשֵׁ֙שֶׁת֙ הַקָּנִ֔ים הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים מִן־הַמְּנֹרָֽה׃ savoir, un bouton à l’origine d’une de ses paires de branches, un bouton à l’origine de sa seconde paire de branches, un bouton à l’origine de la troisième: ils répondront aux six branches partant du candélabre.

36 כַּפְתֹּרֵיהֶ֥ם וּקְנֹתָ֖ם מִמֶּ֣נָּה יִהְי֑וּ כֻּלָּ֛הּ מִקְשָׁ֥ה אַחַ֖ת זָהָ֥ב טָהֽוֹר׃ Boutons et branches feront corps avec lui; le tout sera fait d’un seul lingot d’or pur.

37 וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ אֶת־נֵרֹתֶ֖יהָ שִׁבְעָ֑ה וְהֶֽעֱלָה֙ אֶת־נֵ֣רֹתֶ֔יהָ וְהֵאִ֖יר עַל־עֵ֥בֶר פָּנֶֽיהָ׃ Puis tu feras ses lampes au nombre de sept; quand on disposera ces lampes, on en dirigera la lumière du côté de sa face.

38 וּמַלְקָחֶ֥יהָ וּמַחְתֹּתֶ֖יהָ זָהָ֥ב טָהֽוֹר׃ Puis, ses mouchettes et ses godets, en or pur.

39 כִּכָּ֛ר זָהָ֥ב טָה֖וֹר יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֹתָ֑הּ אֵ֥ת כׇּל־הַכֵּלִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ Un kikkar d’or pur sera employé pour le candélabre, y compris tous ces accessoires.

40 וּרְאֵ֖ה וַעֲשֵׂ֑ה בְּתַ֨בְנִיתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֥ה מׇרְאֶ֖ה בָּהָֽר׃ {ס} Médite et exécute, selon le plan qui t’est indiqué sur cette montagne.

ודברתי אתך מעל הכפורת. ובמקום אחר הוא אומר, וַיְדַבֵּר ה' אֵלָיו מֵאֹהֶל מֹועֵד לֵאמֹר (ויקרא א, א), זה המשכן מחוץ לפרכת, נמצאו שני כתובים מכחישים זה את זה, בא הכתוב השלישי והכריע ביניהם, וּבְבֹא מֹשֶה אֶל אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וַיִּשְׁמַע אֶת הַקֹּול מִדַּבֵּר אֵלָיו מֵעַל הַכַּפֹּרֶת וגו' (במדבר ז, פט), משה היה נכנס למשכן, וכיון שבא בתוך הפתח, קול יורד מן השמים לבין הכרובים, ומשם יוצא ונשמע למשה באהל מועד:

ונועדתי. לא אבין איך יכחיש זה הפסוק. פסוק וידבר ה' אליו מאהל מועד לאמר. כי אהל מועד שם כולל את המשכן ואת כל אשר בו ואין צורך למכריע.

וטעם וי"ו ואת כל אשר אצוה. ככה הוא. מלת ודברתי משרת בעבור אחרת. כאילו כתוב ודברתי אתך מעל הכפורת מבין שני הכרובים. ולא הזכיר הדבר המדובר. והטעם שאדבר אתך להודיע סודי ולהשיב על שאלתך ודברתי את כל אשר אצוה אותך אל בני ישראל ויש לשאול למה הזכיר השם הארון בתחלה. כי כתוב את תבנית המשכן ואת תבנית כל כליו. ומנהג הלשון לבאר האחרון שהשלים בו. כמו ואתן ליצחק את יעקב ואת עשו ואתן לעשו. על כן החל ופירש כלי המשכן והחל מהנכבד ואחר כן השולחן והמנורה ואחר כן ואת המשכן תעשה והנה משה כאשר הקהיל כל העדה החל לומר להם בתחלה המשכן והאהל ואחר כן הארון. ואין צורך שילמד אדם את משה ויש לתמוה למה לא הזכיר מזבח הקטורת. והתשובה בדרך משל כי הכבוד לא ימוש. על כן הארון דמות כסא. והנה מנורה ושולחן ערוך. על כן לא הזכיר מזבח הקטורת רק אחר מזבח העולה בעבור שיזהיר לא תעלו עליו עולה ומנחה ונסך. ומשה הזכירו לבני ישראל אחר המנורה וכן במעשה:

ונועדתי לך שם ודברתי אתך, G’d assures Moses that this is the site where He will communicate with him and become as familiar to him as it is possible for G’d to become familiar to man. This is where the Shechinah’s presence will become “stationed,” as already spelled out in the opening verses of our chapter (8-9) with the words ושכנתי בתוכם ככל אשר אני מראה אותך, “I will dwell among them in accordance with the blueprint which I have shown you.” The meaning of the words וכן תעשו at the end of verse 9, is that once the Jewish people or their elite engage in study of the relationship of physics to metaphysics, something known in the parlance of the Talmud as מעשה מרכבה, and they will do so motivated by the acceptable purpose, i.e. to become better servants of the Lord, not only will the Shechinah assist us but the ministering angels will also be of help in furthering such study.
