Bible du Rabbinat 1899 [fr]

18

Aliya 7

30 וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֣ם אֶת־מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֗י לְבִלְתִּ֨י עֲשׂ֜וֹת מֵחֻקּ֤וֹת הַתּֽוֹעֵבֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נַעֲשׂ֣וּ לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א תִֽטַּמְּא֖וּ בָּהֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ {פ}

Targum Jonathan

English

But you, O congregation of Israel, observe My statutes, and the order of My judgments, and commit not one of these abominations, neither (you who are) native born, or the strangers who sojourn among you.

Ibn Ezra

English

observe My decrees the abovementioned things which I have forbidden to you and my judgments you must render the justice that I demand, if anyone should disobey these laws.

Do not practice any of these abominations Scripture repeats this admonition, in order to include the alien . These commandments apply equally to the native and to the resident alien, since both reside in the Holy Land. If you have sense in your head you shall understand that Ya‘aqov (who in his day married two sisters in Ḥaran), and ⊂ Amram after him (who married his aunt in Egypt), were not defiled by their actions.
