2 כִּ֚י אִם־לִשְׁאֵר֔וֹ הַקָּרֹ֖ב אֵלָ֑יו לְאִמּ֣וֹ וּלְאָבִ֔יו וְלִבְנ֥וֹ וּלְבִתּ֖וֹ וּלְאָחִֽיו׃ si ce n’est pour ses parents les plus proches: pour sa mère ou son père, pour son fils ou sa fille, ou pour son frère;
3 וְלַאֲחֹת֤וֹ הַבְּתוּלָה֙ הַקְּרוֹבָ֣ה אֵלָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־הָיְתָ֖ה לְאִ֑ישׁ לָ֖הּ יִטַּמָּֽא׃ pour sa sœur aussi, si elle est vierge, habitant près de lui, et n’a pas encore appartenu à un homme, pour elle il peut se souiller.
10 וְהַכֹּהֵן֩ הַגָּד֨וֹל מֵאֶחָ֜יו אֲֽשֶׁר־יוּצַ֥ק עַל־רֹאשׁ֣וֹ ׀ שֶׁ֤מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה֙ וּמִלֵּ֣א אֶת־יָד֔וֹ לִלְבֹּ֖שׁ אֶת־הַבְּגָדִ֑ים אֶת־רֹאשׁוֹ֙ לֹ֣א יִפְרָ֔ע וּבְגָדָ֖יו לֹ֥א יִפְרֹֽם׃ Quant au pontife supérieur à ses frères, sur la tête duquel aura coulé l’huile d’onction, et qu’on aura investi du droit de revêtir les insignes, il ne doit point découvrir sa tête ni déchirer ses vêtements;
11 וְעַ֛ל כׇּל־נַפְשֹׁ֥ת מֵ֖ת לֹ֣א יָבֹ֑א לְאָבִ֥יו וּלְאִמּ֖וֹ לֹ֥א יִטַּמָּֽא׃ il n’approchera d’aucun corps mort; pour son père même et pour sa mère il ne se souillera point;

Aliya 2

18 כִּ֥י כׇל־אִ֛ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־בּ֥וֹ מ֖וּם לֹ֣א יִקְרָ֑ב אִ֤ישׁ עִוֵּר֙ א֣וֹ פִסֵּ֔חַ א֥וֹ חָרֻ֖ם א֥וֹ שָׂרֽוּעַ׃ Car quiconque a une infirmité ne saurait être admis: un individu aveugle ou boiteux, ayant le nez écrasé ou des organes inégaux;
19 א֣וֹ אִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶ֥ה ב֖וֹ שֶׁ֣בֶר רָ֑גֶל א֖וֹ שֶׁ֥בֶר יָֽד׃ ou celui qui serait estropié, soit du pied, soit de la main;

22 לֶ֣חֶם אֱלֹהָ֔יו מִקׇּדְשֵׁ֖י הַקֳּדָשִׁ֑ים וּמִן־הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים יֹאכֵֽל׃ Le pain de son Dieu, provenant des offrandes très-saintes comme des offrandes saintes, il peut s’en nourrir;
23 אַ֣ךְ אֶל־הַפָּרֹ֜כֶת לֹ֣א יָבֹ֗א וְאֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֛חַ לֹ֥א יִגַּ֖שׁ כִּֽי־מ֣וּם בּ֑וֹ וְלֹ֤א יְחַלֵּל֙ אֶת־מִקְדָּשַׁ֔י כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃ mais qu’il ne pénètre point jusqu’au voile, et qu’il n’approche point de l’autel, car il a une infirmité, et il ne doit point profaner mes choses saintes, car c’est moi, l’Éternel, qui les sanctifie."
24 וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן וְאֶל־בָּנָ֑יו וְאֶֽל־כׇּל־בְּנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {פ}

They shall not take to wife a woman who hath gone astray by fornication, or who was born illegitimate, nor a woman who hath been put away, whether from her husband or the husband's brother, may they take; for he is to be holy before his God.

Ibn Ezra

English

a harlot In all of Scripture we find no instance where the plain meaning of this word is anything other than the literal one — even in the case of “they have given a boy for a harlot” [Joel 4:3], as I have explained.

a profaned woman but less flagrant than a harlot. According to the plain meaning of the text, it is evident from the words of Ezekiel [Ezekiel 44:22] that a kohen may marry a widow — at least the widow of another kohen. Thus, the words of the tradition [Qiddushin 78b] are correct.

כי קדוש הוא לאלוקיו, every member of the tribe is by definition בעל בעמיו, an especially distinguished personage among his people. If he were to marry someone guilty of or unfortunate enough to belong to the categories mentioned in this verse, the husband would no longer be entitled to the sanctity his birthright had not only entitled him to but had expected him to preserve.
